Anybody looking at this card today?

Race 1) #8 Lunar Power is taking a sharp drop in class shipping in for the able trainer J M Baird. He has had a recent work over the track and the addition of H Rivera in the saddle would seem to signal that a good effort is in the cards. Also looking at the #10 Clear Victory (10- 1 ML) a bit. He gets lasix and Whitney tonight and if he can get away from the gate at all ,he could be a late threat.

Will hopefully find some time to add some more to watch at Mountaineer tonight.

I am currently on hiatus due to bad handicapping, though I did hit 2 signers on Saturday, nevertheless I have really stunk the joint out recently, but since you asked I can't help but look over the card.
Looks to me like the 8 will have to improve quite a bit to win this race, I'd need a pretty good excuse to throw out that clunker he ran last time out and a 4f workout in 50:00 while above average is not standout at MNR, I would be very wary of the 2 horse here, consistantly has the best early and mid speed of this bunch and speed rules in recent days at MNR sprints. The 2 horse gets Birzer, the class drop and has the best speed in this field in each of his last 2 races. Like the 8, just think this is not the race for him to graduate from.
Good luck and if anyhting jumps out I will post it here, won't play it and jinx it for ya.

Maybe the worst card I have seen at MNR in a long time, I just can't even cap the grass races there and then 2 unpredictable maiden races really only leave 3-4 races to even look at and of those I think the 9 in the 9th race is your best bet of the night, though I doubt you will get anywhere near the 8-1 ML, probably closer to 7-2 by the time they load up. Good Luck.

Thanks for your imput Pen Fan, As usual I was way off in the first as the #6 won paying a sweet $118. to win. NO way could I have used him. I just played a couple of exacta boxes in the first as they pounded that #8 down to 6/5 so I was not about to accept that price.

Undaunted I press on,I do like your #9 in the 9th, also like the #1 in that same race. Baker is a hell of a trainer at Finger Lakes winning at about a 30% clip and has done very well shipping into Mountaineer as well. He also saddles the #2 in the 10th.

Correct you are about the turf races, as most have not raced on the grass at all and very few have won on the green.

I'm taking a small flyer on the #5 in the 2nd, though the #7 looks very tough.

Good luck

Thanks Hamster, Thanks to Well Educated I ended with a $14 profit for the night, but P Fan was right as it was a really tough card to 'cap, I was very fortunate to escape unharmed.
