I'm going with UNDER 30M +120 for 2 units at WSEX

I think that movie will gross between 25-32M this weekend so i'm taking my chance with the under here! I would have prefer a match ups vs Femme Fatale instead but bookies aren't ignorant..

What makes you so sure the movie won't hit $32.5M? Check out this website where they do some sort of movie stock market - http://www.hsx.com/. Based on what people there are paying on puts and options for the opening weekend it seems that they are predicting around $35M. This movie is hard to call. Part of me thinks that a lot of people will wait for word of mouth to see if it's any good but you always have the teeny boppers who will eat this movie up. Need to do some more research. Eminem is a major star with the young crowd. Let's look at how some other young stars have done with recent openings - XXX (Vin Diesel) opened with $44.5M. Scorpion King opened with $36.1M. On the other hand, Britney and Mariah both bombed bad in their movies. So does Eminem count as a young male actor hot with the young crowd or get lumped with the other musicians turned actors who have bombed. Not so sure the under $32.5M is a mortal lock.

I didn't say it was a lock but if lines keep rising the UNDER is looking more tempting. Jackass did 22.7M and was a pretty good surprise for me but i think it should be more of the same crowd that will go out to see it PLUS Eminen fans wich brings me close to the 30M. SC2 will still attract the family and The Ring and Jackass will split the rest of the young adults... Don't get me wrong, 8 Miles will be a big hit but is it big enough to overpass 35M if it goes there? :shrug: :confused:

1837 - Did you see what the under closed at? +220 Wow. I took it when it was +185. The public seems to be high on this movie going over - not sure why - feel pretty good about it though since the public is usually wrong. Anyway, I did a lot more research into what this movie should gross this weekend and came up with just about everything indicating under. A friend of mine lives in LA and works in the movie industry. He put me in contact with someone who does this for a living and publishes a newsletter for the movie industry. Anyway, he projected $27M as the opening number. He said it may go over $32.5M but not likely. So I love getting the high payoff on a bet that at least has a 50% chance of winning (I think a lot higher than 50% but you never know). Also, boxofficeguru.com projects $25M. Cross our fingers on this one. I will be out at my local movie theater all weekend steering people away from the moive.;)

WOW!!!!!! 8 Miles did 20.88Millions yesterday!!!!!!!:eek:

We're gonna lose the under 32.5M prop for sure but our props of 5 units vs SC2 looks in the bag!:D

Forecast is between 55M to 60M for 8 miles this weekend!:eek:
