If you are a fan of the 20s and French nostalgia then go ahead with the brownie points and enjoy the movie with the wife.
The setting is in Paris. An aspiring novelist accompanied by his fiance and her family set the stage of this scenic movie. Having not been to Paris and having read or enjoyed the works of the artists and writers of this time period, I enjoyed the story line.
Owen Wilson, while not my favorite, plays his character well.
I enjoyed Hemingway's character and while wouldn't go see this by myself or even finish the trailer, the wife and I enjoyed it and made for a good discussion of our favorite times.
Always nice to learn something new about your significant other.
While it had a few chuckles as I was able to identify the characters and their personalities, this is not a comedy nor a drama but simply a walk down memory lane.
