When I was a youngster, my dime allowance bought a weekly comic book.
Superman, Batman, Superboy, Jimmy Olsen....those were my picks. I would stand at the store and quick read for free, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman... DC all the way.
I would spend my dime, take home the chosen one to savor, never Wonderwoman...gosh, she was a girl afterall.
Movie REVIEW
Diane was the only child on a hidden island (created by the God Zeus) dominated by all buff fighting Amazons.
She grew up learning the skills.
Chris Pine is a spy for England, he flies a stolen WW1 German plane into the barrier that hides Amazon island.
Diane is gazing out to sea, pondering her future, sees the crash,
saves Pine.
Pine has the stolen secret German plans for a super toxic nerve gas, needs to go to England.
Meanwhile, the Germans are nearby in a ship, they breach the Islands barrier and all hell breaks loose.
German guns versus Amazons on horseback with spears and bow and arrows.
Amazons, after many casualties, prevail.
After much thought, WW sees a future for herself,creating peace for mankind.
Pine and WW head to England, and the adventure REALLY begins...
Don't want to give too much away....good summer flick.
A shame Hollywood has resorted to Computer Generated Toys and comic book heroes.....
