--the rest of you please excuse me I don't want adulterate your nice forum but got some stupid questions to pose to CC on rugby.

CC by basics 101 I ment that I am clueless to rugby. I printed out the scedule of events on world cup that was posted earlier. My 1st fault was I couldn't find the lines but like a dumbass was looking under soccer. Yes I am that dumb:eek:

Ok here is my list of books to see if I have good ones for lines
WSEX Oly 365 Sportingbet 5 Dimes-$plays-SIA-Pinnacle-betJamacia-Bet&Win-Cascade-Boyles-skybet-Gamebookers and Centrebet.

What time do you usually post plays U.S. time. I don't sleep but 5 hours so if early am no prob.

How much deviation in line move would you deem no play as a rule of thumb. Reason I ask is I have seen many plays here where line has significant move similiar to golf forum.

That should do me for starters will ask more I am sure after I get started.

DTB,

Now I understand!! Firstly the most important part is that the list of books there are fine for someone who wants to wager on rugby. You have a nice mix of European and world books, and the most important ones I see is that you have Bet365 and SkyBet, which after the World Cup, will allow you to bet on my bread and butter (Celtic Rugby) and also Hoss' Zurich bets.

The schedule you printed out from our thread is fine. The kick off times I have listed are in British time, so if you are US Central time take 6 hours off scheduled kick off time, Eastern take 5 hours off, and Pacific take 8 hours off so :

USA vs Fiji kicked off at 8am British time, so kicked off at 3am Eastern time.

I along with others normally post the plays well before gametime, except in certain circumstances, like Pumpkin this morning.

It is very rare you will get line movement on a rugby match, not a major line movement anyway. This mornings USA game was a rare execption, but as a rule I wouldnt go much lower then 4/6 (1.66) on a spread bet, and wherever possible get the best possible spread for the team....another thing to learn is that so many firms have so many different opinions, so very rare that the spread is the same amongst the books.

Last but not least, never confuse rugby with soccer!! They play rugby in heaven and not soccer, for the simple reason that it is the better game!!! :D

Thanks --and I do know the difference I must have had a slight pin stroke at the time :)
We get very little viewing of Rugby here.
I always drop down here and see what you, hoss, the bull dog, anders and others got shaking.

This forum reminds me much of the golf forum where knowledge is pooled and every one pulls together. Thank you and the others. I'll be hawking and ride ya all for some modest wagers:)
GOOD LUCK

Gareth make sure ya warn him about that stupid stupid British TIE crap :nono: :nono:

although if he wagers at an "offshore" (olympic, 5 dimes, etc.)book he will not have that problem :)

Yeah...very good point but he probably knows about the great British rip off through his golf bets. As with 72 match hole betting, any game that lands on the actual spread is a tie, as British firms offer a line on the tie as well.

It is a option to cover your bet on the tie, but it is not something I do, as the whole idea is betting the game to clear the spread. You do not think the game will go near the tie.....if you do think so, then you should not be betting the game in the first place.

Cameron Crazie said about your poor TV coverage in the rugby thread. I really cant understand this, especially the way the US played this morning. They deserve more coverage and recognition then they get....I watched USA skipper Dave Hodges say in the post match interview that the whole of the rugby world had written off his teams chances for the game, but he is obviously not a member of this site, as they were well fancied on the forum.

I really think the game can take off over there. It is a high scoring exciting game, and is not too different from NFL. However, the USA rugby suits will have to increase the coverage in order for it to suceed.

DTB,

Go to SportsInteraction and make New Zealand (-70.5) your first bet. I will be posting the game in the main thread, as long as I get a similar line over here, but I would definitely take that spread.

You have about 33 hours until gametime, so no excuses that you missed the game!! ;)
