We just got back from the Black Hills - did Rushmore/Custer State Park/Wind Caves, had a great time.

Was wondering where to take the family next - will keep this in mind:00hour

In the early 80's, I was visiting my sister in Seattle and decided to visit Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park. Got geared up and started climbing a hillside trail when it started to snow heavily. Thought it best to return to the Lodge before I got stuck in a bad situation and a bear had me for a snack.
Covered in snow, I walked into the Lodge and a group of men were huddled around a radio. I said, "Hey, what does a guy have to do to get a cup of coffee here?" Guy says, "Be right with ya' buddy, President Reagan's just been shot."

I lived in Seattle for a year as a teen

Mt Ranier is wonderful when the sky is blue an no clouds , but I could almost count on one hand the times I actually saw that.

It is cloudy, gloomy , most of the year.
It seemed to rain daily from what I remember.
Rain especially in the afternpoons.

It is near Puget Sound and that affects all the weather patterns.

Hiked up the mountain a few times. It is beautiful there.

not sure if I could live there
