I agree with your stance: If someone tries to rob you, the rest of the group should take up a collection for the would be robber, and send him on his way.

I'd rather he not pull his gun and use my daughter or wife as a shield. Am I the only 39 year old that looks back at some of the stupid shit I did in my late Teens and early 20s and think thank god. I clearly never pulled a gun on someone but christ I made some bad choices.
