I see Murdoch king of News Corp includes Fox. Is doing well. No wonder he likes bigger tax cuts for the rich and supports anything Bush says. Salary last year 4.5 million. Other income such as bonus 12 million. Not bad 16.5 million. Tax cut lets him keep a extra 1.3 mill. Im sure he needs it.
Mean while that tax cut is driving our country father into dept. Interest rates are going higher.
So the tax cut for most middle class is getting ate up.

But how much more influence does he have over politics than one of us? Don't think that is what democracy's ideals are based on.

isn't that what Colon Powell's kid is doing with the FCC?

If anyone is guilty of attempting to take control of the airwaves, it's the Fallwellian moral majority crowd.

decency and political censorship are a little different dont you think?

or do you think that we shoudl just let hollywood pervert everyone of our nations youth?

a line needs to be drawn somewhere (as it always has been in the history of our country -- falwell and co are just trying to move it back to where it was), and with the incidents of molestation increasing at alarming rates, one has to wonder why exactly we are having these problems with all these sex addicts who have nurtured their never fulfilled desires which become increasingly harder to fulfill and eventually many of these people end up being the predators that they are

I thought it was the job of parents to raise their kids, not Hollywood.

not sure what parents and raising kids has anything to do with what i said as nowhere did i mention anything of the sort

first you go off topic with the FCC, now you are off topic completely with child rearing

very confusing to have a discussion with this type of meandering discourse

well, here is why Dr. Freeze and others have a problem with a lack of decency..

First, we all have a desire to explore this area of life...and kids especially, have this desire as we all have been there.

If this stuff is freely available, it does not matter what a parent does, a kid will do what a kid will do. You are fooling yourself if you think that they will not and live in a different reality than the rest of us.

The mind is the most powerful sex object and is very vulnerable to becoming overtaken as it is not ever fulfilled sexually -- only temporarily that thirst is quenched. Again, I dont think any of this is debatable. Some of us are unable to control these urges and begin to explore more and more perverted ways to attempt to fulfill these desires. Eventually, in a lot of people this leads to child molestation, rape, and murder.

Dr. Freeze and Mr. Falwell, although not agreeing on everything, are in firm agreement on the need for decency in society.

It has been around since the inception of this country, so it is unlikely, despite what the ACLU says, that it is unconstitutional. I really doubt the founders had any clue it could ever be this bad and would be horrified to find how freedom of the press was interpreted to protect vile pornography and this effect on the minds of our citizenry.

I really do not see how any of this relates to parenting. That is absolutely absurd to bring that up and again you are not living in any kind of reality to even bring up what a parent can or cannot do to keep a kid's mind clean as long as possible so that he can mature enough to be able to handle his sexual urges normally/appropriately/with more discretion.

A little more decency in society can't hurt. You still have the choice of cable and XM/Sirus radio now. Kneejerk reaction to say it's the parents job to raise their kids. Don't get me wrong, it is. However, with broken up families and many parents working alot of hours and two jobs in this wonderful (cough cough) economy a little help in society standards wouldn't hurt.
