It's also worth remembering that the accomplishments of the US GI have made the world the best place it has ever been: From liberating Europe and the world from fascism, to reducing communism to rubble, to stopping ethnic cleansing and enforcing the peace.
The US GI is the greatest hero of modern times, and I say that it is worth defending the right of the New York Times to write the crap they write, because that right was also built on the back of the American GI - and keeps us all free.
Oh, and the British soldier has more than held up his/her side of the deal as well. We are truly borthers in arms.
Merry Christmas to all. The world keeps on getting better thanks to the sacrifice of our heroes.
