MVC teams' RPIs are overrated!

These teams will shock everyone in the big dance. Their RPIs are miscalculated in a way mainly because a lot of their top 50 RPI wins are vs. themselves. Its a very competitive conference amongst the top 5-6 teams to say the least, but they keep knocking each other off. But if you look at their non-conference schedules/wins before conference play, there are not a lot of very huge wins. I see no more than 1 making it to the sweet 16 if that.

The RPI as a #, fails to live up to what it was intended to do, rank teams. How can Nw # 86 beat # 16 Wis , beat #14Iowa, and come with in a shot of #5 Ohio St ? You can throw the RPI out if WIS is # 16. If anyone used the RPI or the rankings to gamble, they are broke. I don't want to put anyone to sleep but; part of the Vegas magic is rating systems and the perception of the teams we bet on because of these #'s. The best thing a gambler can due is go by what you see, know and feel, and go against the #'s and the money.

totally agree, the mvc teams are completely over-rated vs their rpi

as an arizona fan i can tell you that our #18 rpi in not a true indicator of this teams performance......at some level your rpi should not only factor in the sos but if you actually win any meaningful games

arizona can beat anybody in the tournament (or lose to anybody) but to say our 18-10 reg season record thus far makes us the 18th best team.....i dont think so........25th-30th sounds about right 2nd or 3rd in the pac 10 behind ucla and even with wash

gjn23, I agree 100% with you. Could you do us a favor and cover up ? Either put an overcoat on or a bag on his head or both. Thanks .
