Browns +4.5 over Steelers
Browns moneyline (+165)

We have a Steelers team coming off huge, impressive, emotional, downright historical back-to-back home wins.

Now they take their inflated egos and rookie QB on the road to play the Browns. Browns are a very capable team, especially at home, plus they are in revenge mode from losing by 11 at Pitt in Week 5.

This is the NFL, no team is ever as good as the Steelers have looked the last two weeks. This league is filled with head-scratchers every week. How does Ariz beat Seattle or the Bears win at the Giants. How does ATL go into Denver and win by 13 points.

Steelers are good, very good. But I think their little party takes a week off against the Browns.

I agree, but don't think it matters that Ben is a rookie, he is hands down top 5 QB in league. But I think it is a good spot for the Browns, who are a very good home team. Good luck. That's a live dog.

agger, not sure of there's anyone who can check, but i have twice noticed this year when teams have played huge game b2b then journeyed to seemingly easier Win situation and the dog has pimp slapped them ...

pats played hawks/jets ... then went to pitt and were crumpled

hawks played rams/pats ... then went to zona and were scuttled

the scenario of travel behind the two big Wins were in equation ... I like Pitt a lot but can they really be this much better than the rest? Ben's on 20 game skein now ... Brownies always stubborn at home

Continue to dislike the Steelers and not give them respect, Vegas needs somebody on that side of the line I guess. What do they have to do get any respect at all?

"the bunker"
no offense penguin, but,i still think that secondary is very ???...

this division with b`more...cincy and cleveland don`t really have the weapons to really take advantage...

in the last 2 games, the steelers jumped out to big leads....

i think this is a tough spot....cleveland is a significantly improved squad....

this steeler hysteria reminds me of the seattle bandwagoneering earlier in the season....

getting to play all these big games at home is a big advantage...coming off the bye to boot...

....

so far...oakland....lost AT the ravens big...at miami....cincy at home.....cleveland at home....at a bad dallas team...bye...then the 2 home games vs n.e. and philly...

and the rest of their non-conference schedule isn`t exactly a murderer`s row.....

they should go deep into the playoffs.....possibly with home field advantage...

yes...roethlisberger is gonna be a good one....he`s got an awful lot of weapons to play with in pittsburgh......

no....he`s not a top 5 qb yet....that`s ridiculous...

i fully expect the steelers to be playoff bound and with home field advantage...

HELL
Chiming in on this subject. Every week I say the same thing, Parcells will devise a game plan, Coach B will have a plan, or the Steelers can't stop TO and every week I have lost going against them. 3 weeks now in row for me and big. I am from Pittsburgh. I went 5-2 yesterday and lost money. Philly was my marbel game. My fault for that no doubt. Same thing with SD. Why try to be the hero? Run the gravy train out until they lose. For every one you win, you might lose 5. Year and year out, certain teams get hot against the number...why not Pittsburgh/SD. On the flip side, Pittsburgh usually does lose at least one of games yearly either against/at Cleveland/Cincy. I personally am done going against them, this does not mean I will go with them either in these next two spots. Good luck.

Appreciate all the feedback so far guys. I thought my title would draw some response.

First, I don't want people to mis-construe my post as being a non-believer in the Steelers. It think they're gonna play NE in the AFC Champ game, how much more praise can I give them?

Still, I never got the memo that said the Steelers are going to go 15-1 and start winning division games as 4.5 point road favorites.

Already today, I read Peter King's column on CNNSI.com, he was comparing the Steeler dominance the last two weeks to the 85 Bears. Can we take it easy, people?

Vicc, I don't have any tangible stats for you, and I certainly have no inside information. But the Browns have lost two straight and are desperate, and they're at home.

Yes, Big Ben won by 4 at Dallas thanks to Vinny T's untimely fourth-quarter fumble. But I'm not ready to induct the guy into Canton because he was 11 of 18 for 183 yards against Philly.

Will check in later in the week. Go Brownies!!!

For some reason the Browns allways play the Steelers hard, it a rivalry. I believe the Browns won the last meeting. I look for some payback From the Steelers next week. Good Luck!

also, couldn't agree more. It won't be my biggest bet in 12 years but I will play Clev. on the moneyline and the spread. I think I will wait for the line to go to 6. Every sucker in the country will be on Pitt. Also, Cleveland score last night was closer than game appeared. Give me the home dog!!!!!!!!

Good luck to us

its funny, i just talked to a couple of pittsburgh people in the area and theyve all been saying the same thing -- theyre tempering their enthusiasm because they feel theyre playing way over their heads right now. personally, i dont like the way davis coaches vs. the steelers. he cant beat cowher, and that is what might keep me away from a cleveland play for the time being. but it seems even the pittsburgh people i talk to still dont want to get ahead of themselves because they dont feel like theyve got all that great a team this year.

My point is that Roethlisberger is the intangible here, you just can't handicap 5 games experience. There is too much about a game like this that can't be handicapped, having said that, I think the line is awfully low for a team as popular as the Steelers are now, like Vegas is baiting you into taking Pittsburgh. I guess the title of this thread is what got my attention most of all. Again, there is too much about this game that can't be handicapped to make it a play, let alone a mortgage buster.

Why not? I mean, I know what you are saying, but the 'kid' hasn't put a foot wrong against MUCH better pass D's than this, so why would anyone 'expect' him to have a bad game here?

Don't get me wrong...He may well have a terrible game....But EVERY QB in the NFL has a bad day and will lose a game...whether they are a 5 year veteran or a 5 game rookie.

Having said all that, I'd be leary of taking Pitts this week...does seem to be a logical let-down spot, but there's no way I could play a Cleveland team with a TERRIBLE pass D against a team that throws for over 7.5 ypp, with possibly the best defense in the NFL.
