Ball State is a great MAC team, no doubt about it. Even without Dante Love who would have been a possible first round draft choice, the Cards have got the job done week after week. The Cards still have two guys that will probably play on sundays in Nate Davis and MiQuale Lewis.

CMU has owned Ball State over the last four years and last year ran up a schol record 658 yards on them. QB LeFevour is also pro prospect and is once again healthy after missing significant time this year. I also like the fact that the Chipps' moved their practices outdoors this week to better prepare for the weather.

On the defensive side of the ball the Cardinals are the better team, no doubt about it. They have allowed only 341 yards per game and 15.4 points per game compared to CMU's 406 ypg and 28.2 ppg.

Against common opponents, the edge again goes to the Cards. :

Vs Toledo
CMU34-23
Ball State 31-0

Vs. Northern Illinois
CMU 33-30 OT
Ball State 45-14

Vs. Indiana
CMU 37-34
Ball State 42-20

Now the intangibles :

The home field tonight is worth far more than the standard 3-4 points usually attached to it. This is the biggest game that Kelly Shorts stadium has possibly ever hosted and the crowd will be on fire. The Chipps have the confidence of knowing that they have taken the Cards 4 straight and I think that is a big plus.

The implications for Ball State are immense. A perfect season and a possible BCS spot all go by the wayside with a loss tonight. In fact a loss will likely keep the Cards out of the MAC championship game at Ford field. Their motivation will clearly be at its highest level.

If defense wins games then Ball State will escape with the win but it won't be easy at all. The Cards also have the better balanced offense and Lewis could be the difference. Ball St also has the better defense and just might be able to overcome the home field advantage to CMU and win a tight one. As a fan, anything other than a game that comes down to the last possesion would be disappointing.

I would advise to watch the weather and field conditions prior to making a total play.

Ball State 31
Cental Mich 28

Though I really believe that Ball State has the better team the home dog and generous spread make Central an attractive play. I'm buying the hook as well

My play CMU +7' (-125) 5 units

YTD : 56-58 -20.9 :scared

gl mark going to put alittle on the moneyline:00hour +220

Thanks Al, Ray

ML is not a bad way to go. If the Chipps' play their best game and take care of the ball they could win this one straight up. At 2-1 or better its worth a play, no doubt.

Very nice assessmnet Spang. I agree with you. I think Ball St is the better team, but CMU ain't gonna just roll over. I see a very tight game down to a las possession FG or TD attempt. I like CMU plus a touchdown. I also like the OVER.

GL tonight.

Also playing one prop tonight.

DAN LEFEVOUR PASSING YDS -12?EVEN Vs. Nate DAVIS PASSING YDS

two units to win two units.

Reasoning is that Lewis runs the ball with some success while CMU does the bulk of their damage through the air.

I think that the even money is somewhat of a bargain here.
