I let me dogs out a few minutes ago. After a couple of minutes, I heard one of my dogs screaming. I ran outside and a fox was attacking her. All the dogs hauled ass into the house. Thankfully, she only ended up with two small puncture wounds and is doing o.k., except that she is pretty shook up. I guess I need to pay more attention to my dogs when I let them out after dark.

You`re gonna need to have the dog checked for rabies. Think a quarantine may be involved. Nothing to mess with.

Those bite wounds make for some nasty infections sometimes! Our urban neighborhoods are full of foxes and coyotes at night too! They kill a lot of cats and dogs.

I am getting her checked out this morning. She is up to date on all her shots and yes, she is a small dog. She is the one in my avatar.

Hey pug....

Let us know how things turn out. I always hate hearing when a dog gets hurt in some way. I'll be thinking about your little one.

Just saw a fox last night driving home.

Coyotes are bad in this area, too.

Hope your dog heals quickly.

I took Gretel in to the vet this morning. She had two punctures of her skin from the teeth of the fox. The vet wasn't too concerned about rabies because her rabies vaccine was current, but she gave Gretel a rabies booster just in case. She also got 10 days of antibiotics for her punctures. Looks like she is going to be o.k.

We are planning on moving to Costa Rica in late 2013. We are taking a trip to Costa Rica the first week of February to look for property near Jaco. The plan is to buy 200 acres or so of rainforest and then build a house adjacent to it. My nephew is in his first semester of law school (Graduating May 2013) and when he is finished and passes the bar exam, we are retiring.

When time permits would like to hear your research on retiring in Costa Rica. Gregg (judge) had some great research on Panama.

Glad to hear your dog will be ok.

Jaco is great area!

Seems like we have the love of travel in common. My longterm plan is retire when my kids finish undergrad. It will put me at 56, as long as they don't flounder for 6 yrs like I did...lol

I hope our health holds up so that we can do some extensive travel at that point. 2 week vacations are great, but i miss the days of spending two months in Europe or 6 weeks virgin islands over the summer. Lack of long vacations is the worst part about being an adult.....lol
