Eighth pick of a 12 man league. Have been under the weather and came away with the following:

Got a feeling I will be hitting the waiver line for WR.

Feedback appreciated:

DeAngelo Williams RB
Frank Gore RB
Kevin Smith RB
Kurt Warner QB
Tony Gonzalez TE
Ravens D/ST D/ST
Santonio Holmes WR
Lee Evans WR
Brett Favre QB
Stephen Gostkowski K
Le'Ron McClain RB
Sammy Morris RB
Texans D/ST D/ST
Chester Taylor RB
Bo Scaife TE

I was going to go for QB if the top 3 were available before 8th pick. None were, so I took DeAngelo W. and Frank Gore first and second. Imploded from there...

Going to be a long season.

Anyone see where I can plug a whole or two with a sleeper?

Thanks,

B

I need to know a little more about your scoring system and required starters, etc.

I do like your stable of RB's though.... You NEED to pick up Leinhart off the waivers and waste a roster spot in case Warner goes down. He may rot on your bench all year, but if Warner goes down, you'll be so glad that you did.

Your WR's could really use some work. Do the guys in this league like to trade? You might be able to package a deal with one of your RB's to garner a top 10 WR....

You do have some options....

Scaife will never see the field except for Tony G's bye week, drop him and play the waivers for another TE filler. You don't need 2 DST's right now. Keep Balt and drop Texas and play waivers during that week or if one comes available that has a better match-up, pick them up for one week.

See if you can trade Chester to the guy with Peterson for a good WR. You might have to throw in another RB, but not as much with that guy because Taylor is (or should be) very valuable to him. Sammy Morris? Bye. Find a WR and drop him immediately. McClain is more trade bait.... See if you can pawn him off on the guy with Ray Rice as a hand-cuff, which he actually isn't, but that guy might bite and trade you a decent WR for him....

I listed some long shot WR's in the last FF thread....

Chris Henry - Cincy
Earl Bennett - Chi
Mark Bradley - KC
Kenny Britt - Tenn
Steve Breaston - Ariz
Sidney Rice - Minny
Kevin Walter - Houst
Robert Meachem - NO

...but you still need a steady WR1 and you don't have one on that roster.

How many make the playoffs? if it's 8 then grab Lienard as a backup to Warner. Wk 14-16 graet matchups for Ariz. drop a few RB's and pickup 2 WR's and play matchups. Morgan or maybe Jones/Nelson from GB. Man i hope you only start 2 WR's!! GL

1 QB
2 RB
1 WR
1 FLEX WR/RB
1 TE
1 DST

If I can get a decent WR, maybe trade Taylor to whoeever picked up Peterson, I could make it deep into the playoffs.

Im picking up Leinart now. Dropping Scaife TE.

Looking at trading Chester Taylor as Peterson's handcuff.

They have Denver's Eddie Royal, and Vikings Berrian as the two back ups to Steve Smith.

Picked up Michael Crabtree as a gamble off the wire.

If he plays, it will be like a free first round selection... i hope!

Since it is a PPR league, I'd keep Gore and K. Smith and try to shop D. Lo for a top 5 WR. I know it sounds crazy, but Gore and Smith are much more valuable in PPR and you really need a Top 5 WR.

...or...

Since you're only starting one of them, you could just play your 3 RB's each week, but you'd need to take a few shots at a long shot WR, like the ones I mentioned above. If one of them pan out, then you are set. You've got room to play around on the waivers.

I would rather have Josh Morgan over Crabass. He's a Primadonna WR in his rookie year and will definitely be way behind the curve after missing all of the training camp/preseason. Might be worthy of a long shot, but not gonna make or break you.

If you have Team QB, that means that you get all of Ariz QB's, so you wouldn't need to pick up Leinhart, right?

You want a sleeper TE, grab Jarad Cook on the Titans... He may line up as a split end all season and all you need is a bye week fill in. Look to trade him after Tony G's bye week. ;)

...or I like Finely in GB. He's a sleeper at TE. :)

No team league QB, I copied that from Jinxes but didn't edit that part. So I did pick up Leinart.

Berriman got denied for the Taylor. I'm going through your suggestions now.

Thanks Chief! :)

Damn, you'd think I'd have looked at the rules before drafting... :mj07: sheesh.

Its points for TD receptions and every 10 yards...

You remind me of my clients!!! Geeze!!! It's hard for me to give advice when I don't have all of the facts. LOL Good luck, brother. :toast:

Did you try to package Taylor with another of your inevitable waiver wire drops? (e.g. Le'Ron McClain RB, Sammy Morris RB, or even one of your WR's...not that you need to be giving up Wr's or anything.)

That's the polite of saying Sammy Morris is a bust...
Greatly appreciated.

Going with the 3 RB approach to start. and see how it goes from there...

Hey next year, I'm going to need you to log in as me!!! Save us both some time! :toast:

Thanks Taoist for taking the time to help me out.

Always here to help. :SIB

Morris is 3rd on a depth chart on a team that is pass first.... No offense, but he's waiver wire cannon fodder.

I'll take a small stake in your team if you'll let me log in and draft for you. LOL :mj06:

Good point on Morris... kurby

Thanks again and best of luck on the year!
