My final thoughts on who should go....

Obviously, I want to see UM in the title game, so this is a UM fans' perspective

1) Florida won their conference. That's a nice accomplishment and it earns them a spot in the Sugar Bowl, automatically. That's all it earns them under the current system. Boise won their conference, does that mean they are one of the best two teams in the country? Michigan would have won the SEC and may not have had a loss along the way. Florida didn't have to travel to CBus this year. If they did, they wouldn't even be in the discussion.

2) Rematch or no rematch, UM is the better team and would give OSU the best game. Michigan would be a full TD favorite over Florida at a neutral site, per ESPN's contacts in Las Vegas.

3) Michigan has been ahead of Florida in both polls and the BCS for 7 weeks? There are reasons for this.....(6 point win over Vandy, 1 pt win over SC, 10 pt loss to Auburn). Michigan played a schedule that Sagarin and others rank ahead of Florida's and didn't need any blocked kicks, missed extra points or bonehead fumbled punts to win those games.

All in all, I think UM will not get in, and Florida will get beat soundly by OSU. Michigan will take out its anger on SC in the Rose.

That's it. I'm sure Florida fans will try and make a case. Back to capping for me.

I generally thinking touting Sagarin is worthless. Like most computer rankings, it has inherent biases and inconsistencies. He has Michigan SOS at 13 ,Florida at 19 - not exactly a big difference.

But Michigan is 0-1 v Top 10, Florida 2-0. Michigan 3-1 v Top 30, Florida 5-1.

Yet Michigan has the stronger SOS? Way too much emphasis placed on the bottom feeders that are trualy irrelevant - your SOS shouldnt be stronger because you played Ball State instead of Western Carolina...thats fairly ridiculous. I read once that per Sagarin's SOS that (while you have to figure in all the other factors tying together) you could have a weaker SOS playing 1 and 2 and 5 scrubs than playing 7 middle ti lower tier teams....that is just crazy.

By the way if you are going to go by Sagarin he has USC No 2 still in his combined ranking, and Louisville No 2 in his Chess rating that he considers to be more accurate. Michigan is 7 in the chess rating....Florida 11.....

I noticed you failed to mention Michigan only having 3 wins against BCS teams with winning records. ONLY 3 WINS? [/COLOR]

ONE of those 3 wins is against Wisconsin! Wiscy avoided Ohio St, and played Bowling Green, Western Illinois, SDSU, and Buffalo in OOC. :mj07:

FLORIDA has 7 wins against BCS Teams with winning records!

Lets see..........

Florida Gators have over 2x as many wins over BCS teams with winning records than the Michigan Wolverines. :scared

Lastly, Michigan ended the season a LOSER while FL ended the season with 6 straight wins!

You still want to send Michigan over FL to the BCS NC game?

That would be rewarding a LOSER!

I guess if Florida plays OSU that Jan 1 game in Pasadena is going to be renamed te Loser Bowl.

You don't reward LOSERS a trip to the BCS NC game.

Both USC and Michigan ended the season a LOSER! Only difference is USC is in a rebuilding year and I am not sure this was a rebuilding year for Michigan.

USC vs Michigan would be great! Hopefully I can get USC -3 or less.

Are you serious?

Michigan would be favored in that one by 6 or more, I would think.

I am sure you were laughing in 2003!

I'll buy it to +7 and risk all my profits this season AND 25%-50% of my profits from the last 4 years.

Doubt I get that lucky. Maybe Michigan -4 or less. Still will be a huge wager for me.

USC always has an easier time playing teams outside of the Pac 10 conference. USC losing to UCLA will give me a sweet line. Although I still rather lose to Ohio ST. by 20pts in the BCS NC game than beat Michigan and win $$$.

USC offense struggles against fast defenses. Michigan is slow and they don't know how to defend USC. Michigan offense doesn't do anything special to scare me against USC defense. Should be an easy win/cover. 2003 all over again!

LSU in ROSE BOWL would scare me more than Michigan. Michigan is better team than LSU but USC matches up better against Michigan.

You don't have to read between the lines.
all you did was repeat what scott4usc posted.
Isn't that what he said ?
