Things you find while looking for other things: this forum. For several weeks I have been tuning in, but MadJack was not taking any new registrations when I first tried last week.
The quality of this site is remarkable, and having snuck in, I hope to help keep it that way. I already feel on top of my game, and I know I am doing it with better information. Thanks.
Needing to be up front, I have enjoyed action on football games for as long as I can remember, but I am not looking to be a professional or an expert. While I would think nothing of risking $200.00 for several hours of blackjack, I would not enjoy that for a 3 hour football game. A unit for me is maybe twice what you might be thinking it is about now.
I love information. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and I'd rather know all the angles. When I think I do, I don't have much trouble pulling the trigger.
Money management is one of my strengths. I rarely cap a bad week with a loser I didn't really like in the first place, while I have a decent average at using house money to find a play to top off a good week.
The off shore casino explosion has had me wagering at my clip of 8-10 years ago since the middle of the 2000 season. A good team is one that you consistently have a read on, both the good and the not so good. During that time I have done best with New Orleans, followed by San Francisco and Indianapolis. And even the Bears. In fact this post has convinced me to add 1 unit on the Bears.
I have never given over/unders and more exotic bets the attention they deserve, but I think I am starting to. However, I always understood the value of a half a point.
I bleed the Green and Gold of the Packers, and that will never change. Lots of opinions on that topic, but only a handful of wagers during the last twenty years- it would be disrespectful.
That's a pretty good introduction. On to my plays.
Earlier Today: Miami -7.5 @ 1 unit
College football is too fun to resist and the principles are the same, but I can't keep up beyond maybe a feel for the midwest conferences and a few other teams every year.
THANK YOU, gentlemen (and ladies), for giving me the confidence to pull the trigger on this obvious choice (on Wednesday), with an attitude to forsake all others. And with that win I am up 3 units for the year. It should have been a two unit play. However, it just got me to break even on my "forum plays",
since the discussion here last week had me on Cincinnati for the same amount.
SUNDAY (Most of my decisions are implemented on No Juice Friday):
SD -3 @ two units
A fresh and rising club that I was on before the season began and have been right about every week, although I only played them against Washington. I am not detered by the travel.
NO -4.5 @ 2 units
Better on both sides of the ball, the best technical edge of the week with Seifert at Carolina being 0-4 after San Fran (of course those were all wins, so what does that tell me), and a team that has been good to me and good in this spot.
Dallas -3 @ 1 unit
A bad team giving a good effort vs. a team that is a mess. And on Monday night, I guess I think I am getting good value here, although I am not as confident as I was on Friday.

NO -4.5

Clev +2
I can get great odds on 4 and 5 team parlays; I just wish I could hit one.
