I am a huge Clemson fan but I have been to see the South Carolina Gamecocks play 6 times this year. Least week against Florida the Gamecocks were man handled. Three different O-Linemen for USC were taken off of the field, One of their running backs was taken off of the field, and a starting linebacker limped all day.
Summers missed last game with a concussion and will play today. There are alot of questions in my mind about how healthy this gamecock team is.
The other question is the fact that Pinkins at QB is so inconsistent. Can he throw the ball against a defense that is going to put nine in the box and take away the run.
Clemson is hot but both of the "big" wins were at home. Clemson has only one road win and it was against Georgia Tech.
South Carolina on the other hand only has wins over the following schools, Virginia, Vandy, Kentucky, UAB, and La-Lafyette.
*Not exactly an impressive resume.
The website fire lou holtz.com popped up this week and even a win and an 8-4 season may not save Bowden's job. Both coaches are feeling the pressure but Holtz had his contract extended this week so he is a little bit more secure.
USC needs this game to be bowl eligible but Clemson can still get a GATOR bowl bid with the win.
Clemson is playing more like a team with their backs to the walls and the passing game will be the difference in this one. USC has not stopped good passing teams all year and they will not stop Clemson today.
