Ok guys thanks for all the info and advice and I am glad to see there are a few posters who knew what i was trying to say, I blamed no one except myself I just used my story as an example of what can happen and the money I make and what I lost really in not important but this is a serious matter which can and does ruin the lives of many people.
I made a call this morning and he is willing to work things out because he knows me and the club I work at. To all those bashers of me I really dont care I know this is addicting and it happens more often than people realize, There are more homeless in Vegas than any other city that size why the answer is obvious. Let me tell you my first experience gambling, this
a is very true and no BS whatsoever.
I was 19 yrs old not legal in Las Vegas but I won 25 grand in a bowling tournament I use to be a top notch player in the mid 80s
I was just fascinated by that town and what it held in store the next 3 days was more than i could imagine. At the time I was from Florida and thought I knew all you could about dog racing my lesson was not learned that day. I won a pick 6 bet for 1 dollar and won 5 grand when I was 15 but this doesnt compare to my story but that is what got me started.
I had my room for 3 days and I got hooked at BJ I lost 8 thousand the first day alone and then the comeback I was up to 32 grand on day 2 and thought I could live there, I went to high roller room and played 250 and up per hand in 4 hrs I was calling my Father for a plane ticket home. ( hrs later I was in Fl)
At 19 all I did was bowl that was my living and I made a good one as an amatuer in the 80s I was bringing in 50k or more, at 23 yrs old I had lost everything in my life 2 wifes, 2 houses, cars all materalistic things and went for help. Well GA was my start first rule I coukld not do was quit bowling you see in GA when you put money up to win money its Gambling well thats my living and I could not do it, At 25 I was put in jail for 9 felonys for writing bad checks 6 figures to be honest and I served 3 yrs, I got out of prison my first stop the Dog Track I was shocked but did not bet, I thought prison was the best thing that ever happened to me but to this day its a place i will never be again.
I left Florida and tried to start over and moved to New york and as time would have it I just could not stay away from the high that it gives me, I to this day have never had a winning season at any sports wagering there is but I can say this I can honestly say I know more about the players the teams the games than anyone could imagine. Stats numbers odds I have an unbelievable mathematical mind and that is half if not all the reason I felt you could beat these guys. After 20 plus yrs I have never learned the one way to possibly win and thats money management I work hard for what I get now but at one time all I did was bowl and that was easy money now I am a chef and I work hard but still I cant beat the man. I wont say I have never won but I will say this I quit for awhile every now and again but my first bet back always always wins then the fever is back Just like a drunk being sober for 6 months take that first drink its all starting again.
All I can say is be careful I have been alone since I was 21 yrs old because of this addiction I still cant beat.
God Bless you all

On the course!
Well, the assholes here will have a field day with this thread, too. That is unfortunate.

Forget about the "money management" part of this dream, too. If you have a problem.....there is no such thing as money management. Don't think for a second you can control this problem of yours. You need to completely stop. It sounds to me like you are still grasping at that one thin thread of hope that says, "You can make a go at this".

Most of the guys in this place are losing gamblers. Including me. Some are a bunch of cynical fuks who carry their daily missery into this, and other forums. You don't need that either. You should not even be visiting this place, jr. At some point, you will see a guy on a streak and think, "He'll get me out of this rut". You can't help yourself by being here.

You have the ignorant guys from the other thread tell you that you need to grow up, or get over it, or quit whining, but anyone who thinks this isn't a problem for some, probably has the problem themself, and is trying to justify.

Take care, and stay out of these forums. Your life will come back around, and you will feel a ton better down the road.

Jr.,,I agree with these guys, this isn't the support group for your problems. You have an opportunity to beat something that is much better than betting the books.
Your life is going to get much better once you leave this all behind.
Now move on it with the same agression you enter this.
I wish you the very best!!
