If she is a little heavy, the baby bump might not be noticed (that?s what i would guess). Also, long term patients like this young woman are probably not assessed well Bc they all know her. With her young age she?s likely not to have other co-morbidities such as heart and lung problems (basically, feed her through her tube, turn and change her every two hours, and go to the next room), so again, they probably weren?t assessing her. The doctor might see her once a month, and he?s just giving her a cursory glance. Nobody working there has in their mind that she might be pregnant. I can see it being missed.
