They lost last week to Holy Cross while compiling 25 FDs and surrendering 11 ... HC's kicked 5 FGs thanx to 5! Army lost fumbles and gave up a 95 yard KO return after taking lead in 3rd....
Their opponents, Rutgers, might be worst team in college, losing badly to Villanova and Buffalo, both times considered the favorite .... The scarlet knights have flopped QBs already and are #104 in nation in rushing ...
Army lost QB in last game (might be out this week) but frosh stepped in and did fine job ... Army has balanced attack now, ran and passed for over 200 each vs Bob Cousy's alma mater ....
Is Army a juggernaut, of course not ... Is Rutgers a viable 11? Hardly, but they've now lost 11 of last 12, only whipping Navy in that run @ home by 6 ... Rutgers has 5 returning Def. starters and was dead last in nation LY on Offense, being shutout 3xs and scoring under 10 six times; after this game they go to Pitt/Tenn/Hokies/Cuse in 4 of 5 next weeks, their lone home game is WV--think they are excited for year to end already? Rutgers has covered 4 of last 13
Army is plagued by miscues, LY they were -1.5 TO a game, ranking #114 in nation but hopefully they clean that up and move ball freely ... tho they didnt win a rd. game last year, this one isnt too much of stroll, leaving the Hudson to NJ .... Cadets should be happy to travel and be off campus for weekend
