Indiana (3-1) plays North Carolina (0-2) at Chapel Hill tonight.
Indiana is ranked #24 and has a solid team and has already played four games on the road, losing only one, to Marquette 50-49. The Hoosiers already have one win in the state of NC, beating Charlotte 65-61 in their first game.
North Carolina has lost both of their games, losing at home to second tier teams Davidson and Hampton (who was without Davis, their leading scorer).
The Tar Heels have had major problems hitting baskets, in their first two games they are a combined 12 of 54 from 3-point range. Against Davidson, starting power forward Capel and center Lang were a combined 7 of 28 from the field.
In order to improve the teams shooting, I understand that NC coach Doherty will be starting two freshmen tonight: Melvin Scott at point guard and Jackie Manuel at shooting guard.
NC is not a good team this year and Indiana's strong defense should help turn this into a 10+ point Hoosier victory.
