Was up until 4:00 finalizing some things, getting ready for the seaon. These are teams Im married to for the entire season when installed as the DOG............Memphis, Gonzaga, Nevada, LSU, Florida, Bama, UCLA, Arizona, Creighton, S. Illinois, UAB, Villanova, Pittsburg, Marquette, UCON, Kentucky,..............and my team that shocks the basketball world, Texas A&M!!!!!! Hoops is my 1st love and my biggest money maker. I love North Carolina this year, but I doubt they will be an underdog in any game this season.

thanks Don,

I look forward to your picks in Bball this season.

I bet College basketball like this:

I look at the lines and find the one that looks like a sure winner, then i bet the opposite side.
I fade myself.
Sounds funny but it worked great last year until I got too greedy towards the end of the season.

Money management is my downfall.

Dude your killing me! I almost piss my pants laughing when I read that. You fade yourself....HA, HA. I really like Texas A&M to get the money this season. They got one of the best inside out combinations in the country with Law and Jones. I think they could get past Kansas to win the big 12. Getting to the Elite 8 is reachable.

I like Ohio St. to win the big 10. They should be challenged by Wisconsin, but will lean to Matta who has restored the program and has Ohio St. close to becoming one of college basketballs elite. There a sweet 16 team. I just cant back Ohio St. in the dog role though, been preety inconsistent. My sleeper team is TX A&M.............I think they could make the Final 4. I cant wait for baseketball season to officially tip off. I got action almost everynight. Im a pimp for hoops........its where the money is at.

Syracuse could be a surprise team as well. three senior starters and freshman Paul Harris. He has the potential to have a Carmelo like freshman season. Boeheim actually has some bench players who can play as well. They could be very tough come March.

I agree, Texas A&M is a team that will win some road games in conference as a dog or a small fave.

Another team I would advise looking at would be SDSU. They lost Slaughter, who was a beast, but they will be a better 'team' without him. They return Heath, Abukar and two kids who started as Frosh in PG Williams and SF Spain. They added the #3 JC player in the country, a 6-10 Center in Habel. This is by far the best team SDSU has ever had. Oh and I almost forgot their most athletic player, Louisville transfer Lorenzo Wade. UNM and BYU will challenge for MWC title, but this is SDSU's to win.

A smaller school that I really like a lot this year is Loyola Chicago in the Horizon league. They return the best player in the conference in Schilb (19.1 ppg and 5.2 rpg). He is 6-7 and provides matchup problems. They lost just one starter (Logan at 8.8 ppg) and have some depth. This team will be solid throughout the season.

A bet against team early in the year is USD. They lost their 2 best players in Lewis 17.6 ppg and Belser 11.5 ppg. Belser was also their best defender. They return a solid sharpshooter in DeRogatis but that's about it. Brad Holland is a good coach, but he will have his work cut out for him.

Texas A&M isn't a sleeper.

If anything, they have become overrated by everyone saying how underrated they are.

No doubt in my mind they are the second best team in the conferance (which is incredibly week), but they definately won't catch anyone off-guard this year.

college basketball also my favorite sport. Im saying wisconsin comes away with the Big 10 title. got more experience and better coaching. also have better talent. shouldnt be a dog too much this year except at ohio state and maybe at MSU and pittsburgh are the only games that come to mind. maybe at marquette but thats pushing it. i could see that being a -2 game.

Hey don Marquette and Duke could end up playing eachother in a tourney to start the year. How big of a dog u think Marquette would be that game. I would honestly say Marquette will win that game outright. them 3 guards are for real

Signalcaller, dude Im ready for hoops! My bankroll will grow expotentially. I hear you on Wisconsin, I have to lean to Ohio St. winning the conference though. However, It wouldnt come as a big surprise if the Badgers walk away with the Big 10. They are well coached and pretty deep. As far as Marquette being a dog to Duke......thats incumbent upon alot variables, but to take a stab at it, Id say +6.5 to +8.

Hucklebuck, I got my eye on SDSU. Im sure they will win the MWC hands down. There 24 wins last season was the most in over 3 decades. They sweep all the Mountain West regular season and post season titles. I believe much of there success will be incubent upon Williams at the point. Im aware of his 127 assist last season, but I find him to be a bit erratic at times. I could be making a stand with the Aztecs when I find the right situation.

is it me or all the discussion is really not based on betting any dogs... all the teams mentioned will be favored over half their games.
re-read the 1st post, its basically the who's who of college basketball.
here are 3 teams to consider if you are really looking for dogs, not the perrenial powers listed above...
1. manhattan- if you follow college recruiting in new york city, this is the man... was at pitt.
2. central michigan- they get a ben howland assistant who will turn that team into a contender for the mac with shut-down defense.
3. pepperdine- they will be lights out this year with top cali juco coach...

LOL my thoughts exactly, I was surprised I didnt see Duke in the sleeper roll as well

I do agree with manhattan and pepperdine, had a buddy play on the team two years back when he was a freshman and heard about all the pros HC brought into scrimmage with these guys nd the stuff they were doing, I have been waiting for them to be very good and think they will have a break out year

dont know much about CMU though,

I can contribute that I think VT was a decent team last year in a conference that had headline games everyday. Now that they are one year older and returning almost everybody I think they will sneak up on people this year.

JohnnyB, let me get you and your cheerleaders that landed on my thread lined out. Throughout the seaon, I will be recording my plays on this forum as I do in football. And Ive seen alot of yalls plays and records in football so dont really respect many of you as handicappers. Nonetheless, I will be here night in night out delivering. When I post a losing record for the season than bust my balls. As far as my comments about Texas A&M, yeah I understand there not sneaking up on anyone this season, but how many people have them winning the conference and going to the Final 4. I do. Yeah, my list looks like a whos who of college basketball, but go back the last 5 years and see how these teams have performed in the underdog role..........and all are in position this season to compete and get the money when installed as dogs. I will be one of the top producers on this site as I am in football and many of you wont even be around. So whatever you say doesnt mean much to me. F.....g clowns.
