The road sign leading in to my neighborhood.

I never have understood the milk and bread thing? The shelves will literally be bare. Schools here close if snow is forecasted.

What u northerners and Canadians have to remember is we don't have snow plows. We have pickup trucks with snow blades on the front.

True that. They are pre-sanding the streets today in the ATL in anticipation. We may have 5 or six trucks total, who knows.:142smilie

Between The Hedges
As a guy that can drive and spent 6 hours trying to get home a couple years ago for a trip that usually takes 30 minutes there are a couple of things to point out. The ice that swept in a few years ago did so much quicker and thicker than any of the "experts" thought essentially trapping everyone trying to get home. Driving on ice and driving on snow are not the same thing. The biggest thing however is topography. It is funny to hear people in the midwest and these major northern cities that dont have more than 10 feet of elevation change to deal with talk about how Southerners(which really means Atlanta as that is where most of the footage comes from) can't drive. There are literally areas of 200-400 feet of elevation change in very populous areas here and one of those spots is on I-20 beside Six Flags where my SIL was stuck overnight a few years ago. Pretty easy to drive on a frozen lake, much different when that frozen lake has a 7% grade. I am certain that many here are shitty drivers in the snow, but there is a little more to it than they just don't know when to hit the brakes and when not to

Now the thing that does absolutely slay me is the locals rushing out to the stores acting as if they need enough supplies for an Alaskan winter or something:facepalm:

I will give Kaseem Reed(Atl Mayor) this. He caught so much shit a few years ago when the city was woefully unprepared that he now has police cars escorting brine/salt trucks throughout the city:mj07:
