NBA record: -6 units-----had nets game one half-time and for the game but did hedge some back on Spurs 2nd half--should of hedge more now i seen the result--but felt the Nets were playing good and could win. Kidd the whole reason i'm backing the Nets forgot to show up.
200= 1 unit

Tonights game--of Course i like the nets---why??? ALthough Tim Duncan pretty much dominated the game and noone knew it until the last 5 min; feel that Kidd will play better-----Kidd is the reason i played the Nets to win series and he is the reason i will play them tonight. I feel that Kidd up until last game has been playing above everyone else. His ability to rebound,pass, and score have been uncanny. His desire looked to be unmatched and greater than everyone else's. Do i still feel like that? Yes i feel he is going to play better and shoot better than 4-17---Wow that is terrible. But we all have had our share of bad games. So i'm sure we will see his A game tonight. His passes(traditionally good) were sloppy and he was making bad descions--he may have been too pumped up. I was impressed with Keynon Martin on both ends of the floor and believe his game will elevate with each game. Also was impressed with Mutumbo defense intensity and his hustle on the court(I'm sure we will see him more)---I went back and checked out the playoffs after a loss for New Jersey, and after a loss they have come out and put up pts especially in the first Quarter---After a loss their shots went up---resulting in more pts---and more foul shots---I felt in the last game the Nets were not agressive and were settling for the jump-shot entirely too much. Scott will defenitley preaching to push the ball more and look for the defense of New Jersey to be better. We all seen Dallas improve their defense against the Spurs last series---Nets may mirror that d---they had 1 game to adjust. Nets want to run---they learned this much in game 1---but must gets stops at the defensive end--get rebound and outlet to kidd and run--If Duncan keeps scoring their will be no running game. Nets like the game where there are 3's being chucked up from both team--long rebounds leads to fast breaks. ---I still feel that the nets have been playing better basketball--and still feel they had a chance to win in the 4th quarter despite Kidds dismal perfomance---He will play much better tonight and will have his team in a postion to win late--Trust me on that---this will not be a short series. As far as the Spurs go---Duncan played great--Ginolbli played solid--Parker did his part--Jackson played good---Rose made big baskets---Robinson looked like he was 25 again--he was hustling, playing great help d, scoring, hitting the offensive glass. Bowen played solid as well--- The whole Spurs team played good---yes they won by double digits but They all can not play good every game--somebody will play bad--or turnover or shoot bad which lead to lost possessions(no pts)--and kIdd will hit some of those 4-17 shots--he will pass better--he is too good of a player not to make better descions. Do not get me wrong--Spurs looked great wed. but i do not feel they can play like this against a good Nets team consisently from top to bottom. Parker outplayed Kidd wed. but that is not going to happen tonight--and that is where it all starts----Jason Kidd----He plays better--It makes Kittles--jefferson---Harris all better---Martin prove he is althletic enough to create his own shot--and score on anyone. Bottom line is i love the Nets---tonight and still for the series. Good luck to everyone tonight.

Nets series bet pending: 5 units 1000/2450

Nets +5.5 8 units 1760/1600

Nets mline 4 units 800/1680

will play over 187 2 units 440/400---after Nets lose it wakes them up and feel more sense of urgency to run more and score. Game 2 may be more aggressive as well. Nets will attack Basket and go at twin towers. Mutumbo and company of Bench will foul

mutumbo--is playing great---will see him throughout the playoffs now--especially on the road--brings that defensive toughness the nets need to win on the road. I did hedge last game with spurs- 2nd half but will not tonight. Nets energy on d is much better than last game--They are pressuring the ball, hedging screens, boxing out, challenging shots. Nothing is coming easy for Spurs. Both teams commiting 9 and 8 turnovers--that is high. Refs allowing hand checking,and bumping in post--Nets shot the ball 40 times---usually get about 40-45 shots per half. Spurs shooting high percentage but got under 35 shots..they may look to run more. No 2nd half play for me---no hedge---nets win tonight.

Great call ontyne. The difference in this game was Ducan at the foul line. He had 14 from the stripe last time on about the same numer of foul shots (haven't checked the number of shots yet but bet I'm close). Will have to really look at first game in Jersey. The surprise in this game for me was that as good as Kidd played, Parker still held his own. The next game will be a lot tougher to get right than the first two. Good luck

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
:) Good call Tyme!
You had this pegged perfectly!!....
I too loved the Nets in this one although not the ML which took a bigger set of gonads than I had, but both winners nonetheless.

I Will be looking at the Spurs to rebound in game 3 however. But thats another story, so for now congrats...
