Yes, it's not so plain and simple, but we can all use some common sense these days when playing with offshores. Since 9/11 I have become very wary of keeping large amounts in the books I play with. I still worry about what will happen should the next shoe drop.

No one can guarantee a book's stability. Shame on Aces Gold and shame on those within the industry who keep mum about it. They have duped us all, incl. Jack. I just hope the ones I play at are strong enough to survive. My losses are their gain.

no problem, Jack

no problem, Jack

Truth is, I wasn't sure what you were getting at. Thanks for at least clearing it up.

FWIW, I never posted up with Aces. However, I did at one time have a sizeable account with Caribi at one pt. I understand they had credit-related problems. And I thought THEY were "as solid as they come". I don't know the entire story with Aces, but after reading this site and another one things have become clearer.

My point is we can't trust the industry to police itself. The Rx may have gotten the story right, but even then it was too late. Where were the early rumblings? I just hope lessons are learned and these offshore entities utilize good business sense.

Ray,

I envy your "hits." If I understand you correctly, you've never been stiffed by a book. Neither have I. Was paid 10K by Caribi 2 months before they went belly up. What happened to them?

It's just that there are a lot of concerns to be addressed. No one should hesitate to raise a red flag, provided that the concerns are backed up by facts.

btw, I had reread your reply a few times. what's up?

ray: huh? Do you mean Carib? I used to play with them mostly baseball. However, lack of totals on some baskets.

Of course I was talking about CARIBI, you know, the one that constantly touted that they started it all, or something like that. Guy used to be with CRIS before he split to form Caribi.

Anyone remember good ol' SDB Global? Remember getting telemarketing calls from SBG Global after had SDB closed shop? Just reminiscing.
