Nadal -700 over Verdasco

Same line on Nadal over Verdasco as Federer over Roddick. Talk about the power of the media to produce false impressions. The media blathered on about how Roddick was new and improved but his play did NOT demonstrate this leading up to Federer, merely that he was fit physically neck down. It demonstrated merely that he could keep enough balls in play to defeat a Djokovic at 25% capacity.

By contrast, Verdasco showed real quality and toughness in taking out Tsonga, who is very swift and strong, and if injured only very slightly (back disc).

I think Nadal will win but will politely decline the -700.

What do you all think?

It's been ages i've watched any tennis match, but this Verdasco guy is one talented lefty, and we know Nadal's game/ knee can desintegrate on hard courts very easily.

I might be tempted to place a small wager on Verdasco.

I heard somewhere that Nadal has won 77 of 78 GS matches when he has taken the first set. His only loss was against Ferrer in 07 US Open.

I'm really tempted play Nadal like I did Federer this morning. I played Verdasco the other day against Tsonga and was impressed by his play. Playing the best player in the world is big jump.

If this was an earlier round or not a major I wouldn't play Nadal on but on this stage I like him. I just have to decide how much at this price.

gonna live bet this one. no way i'm betting against nadal without seeing a reason. verdasco looked super duper against tsonga but that's no guarantee here.

Played Federer -146 just now. I just think on this surface he is too good for Nadal. Plus it seems it would have extra motivation to go ahead and tie Sampras for Majors won.

Fed is the logical choice on hard, but he's 6-12 lifetime vs Rafael.

Nadal elevates his game each time they play, and Fed isn't the sturdiest player between the 2 ears when things don't go his way.

I hope Nadal crushes him, but something tells me it's gonna be the other way around.

well, 5d said they were offering live betting during nadal-verdasco but i never saw it.

they say they are offering it with serena-safina tonight and in the men's final too. maybe they will.

let us know if you saw any 5d live offerings. i kept refreshing, never saw anything.

I couldn't find it either. I'm going to contact them before the Men's Final I'll let you know what I find out. Wanted to Hedge my Nadal bet after he won the 3rd, I guess it was lucky for me I could not find it.
