Nadal, Henin French Open favorites at betED.com
The 2010 French Open gets going this weekend and betED.com has moneyline betting odds for both the men?s and women?s favorites.
The second of the four annual Grand Slam tennis tournaments, the Paris, France event takes place at the Stade de Roland Garros and starts Sunday.
To no one?s surprise, four-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal is the favorite at -275 in Tennis Betting at betED.com.
Roger Federer is next but way back at +350, followed by Novak Djokovic at +1000.
On the women?s side, Justine Henin is the favorite at +160, followed by Jelena Jankovic at +500 and Serena Williams at +550 in French Open Odds.
The French Open is the only one of the Grand Slam events held on clay courts.
Nadal seems primed to win his fifth French Open, at least judging by the year he?s had so far, particularly on clay. Nadal has won three consecutive clay court Masters titles at Monte Carlo, Rome and Madrid.
Nadal won the French Open from 2005 to 2008, and was upset last year by Robin Soderling, who beat him in the fourth round and ended Nadal?s streak of 31-straight French Open match wins.
Switzerland?s Federer won the first Grand Slam tournament of 2010, the Australian Open in January, beating Andy Murray 6?3, 6?4, 7?6(11). He lost against Nadal in the finals in Madrid but is still the No. 1-ranked men?s tennis player in the world, according to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
Feder is the defending French Open men?s champion, beating Soderling in the finals last year.
Svetlana Kuznetsova is the reigning women?s champion, beating Dinara Safina in the 2009 final for her second Grand Slam title.
