My 20 year old son and his gf are heading to Nashville for 4 days in early March.

Not of age to go in bars but looking for some info on where they can stay fairly cheap, eat some good food and some fun things for them to do.

They will have a car, should they stay out by the airport and drive into the restaurants, museums etc.

Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Nashville has become the #1 destination city in the US and the prices are reflecting it ... hotels have almost doubled in last 3-5 years and parking has gone from $5-10 to $20-40 ... here are my recommendations and feel free to get my email or phone # from Jack for further discussions on anything

if they want to stay in hotels then yes the airport area is best ... rates will run $100-200 a night and its 10-15 minutes to most any where ... I would suggest going on hotwire.com for best rates

airbnb.com is taking over Nashville ... you can get homes, condos, half a house, etc, for less than a hotel ... and most all of them have several reviews from previous renters along pictures of the place and a map where its located ... you can find places easily in $100 a night

do NOT drive downtown, Midtown, Gulch, and popular areas has parking is a night mare and high priced ... if they have never used Uber or Lyft then I can set them up for free rides ... this is the only way to get around, MUCH safer and 50% less than cabs

I am also a big foodie and lived her 30 years so feel free to contact with questions

I would recommend J Alexanders (restaurant). Every time I go there, I see at least one big name star.
I like to go to Opry Mills. The stores are pretty cool, lots of restaurant choices and a very nice theater. Then from Opry Mills you can walk to Opryland Hotel and walk around. They can also eat there (sushi, cafe fare) and then there is a fine dining restaurant called Old Hickory that is amazing. High end food here. This to me, is the best food in Nashville. The chef there used to work at the White House. (Or maybe it is the maitre 'd, I can't remember). The wines are high dollar and they have a Fromagerie that helps select certain types of artisan cheese to go with your wine. Pretty cool dining experience and I can't recommend this one enough. If this is an option, they need to make a reservation and ask to sit outside (which is really inside the hotel cause the shit is gigantic)

The music museums are ok. If they love old 70's and 80's country they will be in heaven if you get my drift.

There are ALWAYS shows at the Ryman Auditorium which is next to Opryland Hotel.

It is fun to walk around the Riverwalk and eat there. To get more info, go here...http://www.nashvilledowntown.com/go/riverfront-park

Lastly there is the Grand Ole Opry which is way better than it sounds.

I suppose since they are in their 20's - Riverwalk is a good bet and Opry Mills has many options.

The Ryman is downtown behind Tootsies ... the Grand Ole Opry is beside the Opryland Hotel :SIB

They seem to be set on a hotel, but I told them that they should defer to the people who know such as yourself.

Their budget is pretty tight... My thought is hotel near airport and then uber and lyft like you suggested.

Will there be plenty opportunities to see live music even though are both under 21?

Again, can't thank you enough.

Pretty much convinced him on air bnb.

Can we get something decent for $100, if so we'll book it.

Totally deferring to you on the location, they know nothing about Nashville.

without seeing the links its kinda hard to judge but most of the ones I saved into a list are in East Nashville ... the Uber/Lyft rides are $5-8 from there

the Opry area has the Hotel which is amazing and the biggest Mall in town

most of the places I have saved are in the $400-500 range for 3 nights after all the fees but I did save some lower ... will try and find some later closer to $300 ... as you could see on Hotwire link, you will not find a decent hotel under a $100 night without being way out and also most all hotels require an adult over 21 to be present at checkin

IE you can forward my email to rrc if you get the chance since Jack is still gone ... thx bud
