Does anyone have an opinion (sure you do) as to the best bet for national champion? I got MD at 6 to 1. Having viewed most of their games this year, I think they have a real good shot. Even though I'm a Terps fan (former student), and slightly biased, I think 6 to 1 is great odds. My book's line on Duke is 2 to 1, and Kansas is 3 to 1. I'm banking on no injuries screwing up the works.
Is anyone else betting this now?

...one of my outs has this prop bet for the tourney....

The NCAA National Champion will be from the ACC -145
The NCAA National Champion will NOT be from the ACC +115

...i would be tempted to take the field bet over Duke and Maryland, but i haven't made any kind of play on this yet.... i really hate having my $$ tied up so long.

...i've also considered Cinn @ 12:1 and Florida @ 15:1, but will probably either play the field bet or nothing....

fix,

Where did you get the Terps at 6:1? My book has them at 7:2, and there's no way there's enough value there. 6:1 sounds like a good line to me, and I'd probalby jump on it if I could find it. Like you, however, I'm alumni and a bit biased (was at the game last night), but I just don't see anyone better right now.

I tend to look at teams that were very highly rated in the begining of the season then stumbled through out had then came on strong at the end of the year. It has worked the last two tears with Florida 30-1 and got me to the Nat'l Champ game and able to hedge my bet on M.S.U. and made a tidy profit. Last year I had the Terps i believe it was also 30-1 or close to that. They got to the Semi's last year and if it was not for the horrible calls that always seem to go against the Terps and in favor of Duke then I would have been sitting pretty again last year. I always wait for the brackets to come out before I make a choice, & I also take a few teams with lower odds.

The odds are not that high but I am looking at Illonois 14-1

I also like Maryland, Florida, Kentucky 20-1, Alabama 22-1 but I like to wait till later to put my money down.

I touched the Terps yesterday on Carib at 6 - 1. I just checked just now and the line is now 5 - 1, so not as good, but still not bad. They just look awfully good right now. Anything can happen in a single elimination tournament, but with the tough starting line-up and deep bench, they look better than Duke to me. I've seen a couple of chinks in Dukes armour lately and I don't think they make it to the final four. I haven't seen Kansas play enough to make a comparison, but I'll go with the Terps. :)
