I bought this down when it was at 9. Seeing mostly 9.5's now, but who gives a shit. My posted plays have been horrible lately. I made a nice chunk of change on Memphis last night, but didn't post the play because my confidence is shot. Can't seem to win anything I post on here in NBA lately.

I like this spot for the Hawks here for a few reasons. First, they are coming off bad loss at DET in which they couldn't pull within 5 in the 4th quarter. This is a was an uncomfortable game for the Hawks as coach Buds opted for an interesting substitution pattern in an effort to keep players rested playing his starters for the first half of each quarter then subbing them out. All 5 starters and 4 bench players playing exactly 24 minutes. During the 24 minutes that the starters were on the floor, Detroit outscored them 61-50. I doubt that Coach Buds goes this route again.
The second reason I really like the Hawks today is the situation playing itself out off the court between these two teams. While the Nets are playing for one of the final playoff spots, the Hawks would love to knock them out. Not only so they wouldn't have face them in the first round, but because ATL owns BKN's draft pick if they fall into the lottery (out of playoff contention). Some will say, 'oh, the coaches don't care about that.' Well I seriously doubt that Buds and Ferry are not fully aware of what these last two match-ups against Brooklyn to close the season could mean for them beyond getting tuned up for the playoffs.
In summary, I expect this is not a game that Atlanta will take it easy as they coast to the #1 seed in the East.
