Week 1 5-2
Week 2 4-3
Week 3 0-0
YTD: 9-5
Excited to start a new week and especially coming off a horrible Clemson loss followed by a dismal performance from the Huskies, I turn to Friday's game and am extremely excited about this matchup.
NCAA GEM OF THE DAY
Colorado +2.5 @ Oregon St.
Colorado comes into this matchup as an unheard of offensive machine led by outstanding 2 guard combo of Alec Burks and Cory Higgins. Size wise Colorado matches up well with Oregon State and is more athletic of a team.
Neither team is rebounding well but for Colorado it's hard to rebound well when you are shooting 51.5% on the year FG% and 46.9% from 3 pt land. Most impressive is the free throw shooting of Colorado, not only is the team @ 80.1% but their 2 best guards are .921 and .796 and this isn't because they've only shot 10 FT's oh no sir, Higgins is 35-38 from the charity stripe and Burks is 39-49 over their first 7 games of the season.
The Bench of Colorado is also a major contributor with Dufault, Thorne, Thomlinson and Crawford, all respectable 3 pt shooters and FT shooters.
Colorado has played some top quality competition coming into this game, losing to the Zags by 4 and Arizona by 4 in OT, recently bouncing back with 15 and 24 pt wins over Chaminade and San Francisco.
The Beavers on the other hand are an offensive nightmare shooting 44% on the year FG%, 66% from FT and 31.7% from 3 pt land all while averaging 58.4 pts/game giving them a sensational 323rd ranking in pts/game in the country.
I do give the Beavers credit for going to GW and beating them, but it's been a 6 day layoff for this team combined with travel back from the east coast, fan attendance could also be down since most fans were probably in Eugene Thursday for the game and won't be doing back to back games.
Look for Colorado to use their size, speed, talent to win outright as the dog in this wrong line matchup and for myself to get back on the winning side and start week 3 off right
