Week 1 5-2
Week 2 4-3
Week 3 0-0

YTD: 9-5

Excited to start a new week and especially coming off a horrible Clemson loss followed by a dismal performance from the Huskies, I turn to Friday's game and am extremely excited about this matchup.

NCAA GEM OF THE DAY

Colorado +2.5 @ Oregon St.

Colorado comes into this matchup as an unheard of offensive machine led by outstanding 2 guard combo of Alec Burks and Cory Higgins. Size wise Colorado matches up well with Oregon State and is more athletic of a team.

Neither team is rebounding well but for Colorado it's hard to rebound well when you are shooting 51.5% on the year FG% and 46.9% from 3 pt land. Most impressive is the free throw shooting of Colorado, not only is the team @ 80.1% but their 2 best guards are .921 and .796 and this isn't because they've only shot 10 FT's oh no sir, Higgins is 35-38 from the charity stripe and Burks is 39-49 over their first 7 games of the season.

The Bench of Colorado is also a major contributor with Dufault, Thorne, Thomlinson and Crawford, all respectable 3 pt shooters and FT shooters.

Colorado has played some top quality competition coming into this game, losing to the Zags by 4 and Arizona by 4 in OT, recently bouncing back with 15 and 24 pt wins over Chaminade and San Francisco.

The Beavers on the other hand are an offensive nightmare shooting 44% on the year FG%, 66% from FT and 31.7% from 3 pt land all while averaging 58.4 pts/game giving them a sensational 323rd ranking in pts/game in the country.

I do give the Beavers credit for going to GW and beating them, but it's been a 6 day layoff for this team combined with travel back from the east coast, fan attendance could also be down since most fans were probably in Eugene Thursday for the game and won't be doing back to back games.

Look for Colorado to use their size, speed, talent to win outright as the dog in this wrong line matchup and for myself to get back on the winning side and start week 3 off right

Mostly because my friends are in this thread, but if they dont want me to post my ncaa picks here in the nba thread then I'll stop, I normally lead with these and I tend to join in on the discussion for NBA.

And I'm not the man :mj07: just 1/25th of the group

Slice, I like the one stop shopping. :)

So long as Jack and the other admins don't mind, I love reading your takes on this thread.

Peace bro.

Ditto.

I like seeing other things which have value without having to go all over the place.

One worth looking at...

One worth looking at...

HORNETS Under 201

MINN has already faced the following in their 18 games: DEN twice, PHOE twice, and GST. That's five games where they gave up an average of 127.6 pts a game. This has severely inflated their PA average. In their other 13 games, their PA average is only 97.6 a game. In those same 13 games MINN averaged 85.5 pts for a combined total of 183.

The HORNETS have broken 100 points 8 times in 18 games. Of those, 2 were OT, 1 vs NY, 1 vs PHOE, and two were against the hapless CLIPPERS. Again, their numbers are misleading if you look at the averages. Simply put, N.O. has broken the 100 barrier twice in reality, for an average of 11% of the time. I'm doubting this game goes OT, so I can't see it getting near to 200.... probably closer to 175.

Chris Paul may return tonight for the HORNETS, but that's not necessarily a bad thing for the Under. He's going to be gimpy, and cautious, and bringing him back vs a weak team, he can get in some game time w/o risking a loss. This should affect the HORNETS flow some as they adjust themselves back to CP3.

:director: This is a BIG PLAY for me. kurby

HORNETS Under 201 ***** MAX BOB *****

Good luck.... :SIB

I haven't had much time over the last few weeks to cap so I haven't had much to say. I do however log in long enough to read this thread. Slicer keep posting as far as i'm concerned. I too like the one thread for all hoops.

Hey guys,

I've got my eye on four plays today, haven't locked anything yet.

Washington -3.5
Detroit -3.5
Chi/Clev under 190
Char/NJ under 181

At these current lines, I think the best value are the 2 side plays. Any thoughts on these?

Slicer ...... you obviously put some time into your college ball selections and I appreciate such time spent ... keep it up ... I don't get into college ball until the conference games start, and I then concentrate on the Big 10 and the MAC ... we'll compare notes.

Had little time last night so I played Boston ( thanks to AX ) ...

Back later with my play for tonight !!!

Hey Slicer ... I don't want to hear a word from you about being UNC fan ... I live in East Lansing Michigan ( 6 months a year ) and am a die-hard Spartans fan !!! Hopefully the teams will meet again in the Final Four !!!

Central Michigan minus 13.5 should roll tonight with first-round-pick LeFevour at QB ... the game is being played at Ford Field in DeeeTroit.

The Cavs minus the 12.5 and the Lakers minus 11.5 ... I'm going to play those two in a small teaser because they are TV games and I'm afraid of back-door covers.

My under play for tonight in the NBA is Atla / NY under 215.5

Good Luck with your Colorado pick !!!

Good Luck to everyone ... let's have a solid winning weekend !!!

Hey Guys...

Hey Guys...

I doubt Jack will mind him posting a NCAA Hoops selection when he STARTS the thread, BUT if it starts encouraging others to do the same, it will have to stop. MAYBE as a solution, anyone NOT starting the thread, say "HEY, I have a HOT PICK in the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ THREAD you should check out" Otherwise we are going to get others making their posts in here due to the amount of views, and a good thing will come to an end.... just some food for thought from a "old timer"

Personally, I don't mind, but I also don't want to be finding a bunch of boxing/golf/soccer etc picks popping up in here when I'm looking for NBA insight. It's often LONG enough as it is without any ADDED info....

Keep up the good work guys! :mj06:
