NBA prop, future bets in demand at betED.com
Oct. 30, 2007

The NBA hits the hardwood this week and betED.com is offering a plethora of prop bets for the 2007-08 season.

betED.com has nine different prop and future wagering categories for the upcoming NBA season, including MVP, Rookie of the Year, Scoring Leader, Rebound Leader, Assists Leader, as well as NBA Championship, Conference and Division winners.

Phoenix Suns? point guard Steve Nash, a two-time MVP winner, is the favorite to take the honor this season (+425), followed closely by the (for now) LA Lakers? Kobe Bryant and the Cleveland Cavaliers? LeBron James, both at +450. Last season?s MVP, Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks, is next at +500.

Nash is also the overwhelming favorite to lead the NBA in assists at +110, which is no surprise as Nash has been the league?s assists leader for three straight seasons, averaging 11.6 per game in 2006-07.

Among Rookie of the year candidates, the Seattle Supersonics? Kevin Durant, the second pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, is a huge favorite at -450. The top pick in the draft, Greg Oden of the Portland Trail Blazers, will miss this season with a knee injury.

Other top rookies are the Los Angeles Clippers? Al Thorton at +400, and Al Horford, picked third by the Atlanta Hawks, at +450.

Bryant is the clear favorite to win the league scoring title at +175. The shooting guard has led the NBA in scoring the past two seasons, and from 2000 to 2002 led the Lakers to three consecutive NBA championships along with then-teammate Shaquille O?Neal.

The Cavaliers? James, the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, is +450 to win the scoring title. James was the NBA Rookie of the year in 2003-04 and was second in MVP voting in 2006.

Three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards is +550.

Kevin Garnett, who was traded to the Boston Celtics from the Minnesota Timberwolves last summer, is the favorite to be the league?s leading rebounder at +250.
