NCAA Conference Semi-Finals

Championship has been quite interesting as Thursday proved. Who would?ve thought that so many top-seeded teams would be given the boot?

West Virginia upsetting Pitt SU and as a 4.5-point underdog by a final of 74-60?

Syracuse taking UConn to six OT frames and winning 127-117?

Oklahoma St. eking out a 71-70 win against Oklahoma and covering as a 4.5-point underdog?

Not many would?ve predicted those results and it ain?t over yet with another slew of games set for tomorrow; we?re getting closer and closer to the conference championships and then Selection Sunday.

Atlantic 10 Semifinal: Temple Owls vs. Xavier Musketeers

Temple +4
Xavier -4

Temple will play Xavier for the right to play in the Atlantic 10 conference championship game.

The Musketeers boast solid regular season stats with a 25-6 record SU, 15-11-3 ATS and 15-13-1 on the Over/Under while the Owls are every bit as impressive at 20-11 SU, 18-11-1 ATS and 11-19 O/U.

X hasn?t marked the spot when Xavier plays Temple as the Musketeers are 8-10 SU and 3-13-1 ATS in the last 18 games against the Owls and 2-4 SU and ATS the last time they have played the Owls in March.

SPORTSBETTING.COM is reporting that Xavier is receiving 70% of the early action on this one.

Big East Semifinal: Villanova Wildcats vs. Louisville Cardinals

Wildcats +4.5
Cardinals -4.5

With the Big East?s No. 2 and 3 seeds (Pittsburgh and UConn) eliminated, the path is open for Louisville and Villanova?seeded No. 1 and 4 respectively?to take the conference title.

Both teams boast solid SU and ATS numbers; Louisville at 26-5 SU and 19-12 ATS and Villanova at 26-6 SU and 16-12 ATS.

Going into the game, the Cards are the hotter team, having rattled off eight-straight SU wins and going 6-2 ATS at the same time.
The two teams have only met five times since 2006 and while ?Nova holds a slight 3-2 record SU, Louisville has been the profitable one going 4-1 ATS.

Fittingly enough, when underdogs of 6-points or less, Villanova has gone Under 13 out of its last 20 games and when listed at -6 or less, Louisville has been a bettors dream going 15-5 SU and 14-5-1 ATS.

ACC Quarterfinal: Boston College Eagles vs. Duke Blue Devils

Eagles
Blue Devils

Not every conference is in semifinal mode yet as witnessed by the Atlantic Coast Conference, which is into the quarters.

With a 25-6 record SU, a 15-14-1 record ATS and an O/U mark of 11-19, the Duke Blue Devils were probably a little disappointed they didn?t take the regular season title?that honor went to North Carolina?but thems the breaks.

Boston College sits at 22-10 with a 14-12-1 record ATS and an Over/Under record of 15-11-1 and according to ESPN, is a Bubble team that should make March Madness in all likelihood; a win over Duke would look good whether they get an invite or not.

Ever since migrating to the ACC, Boston College hasn?t done well against Duke when it comes to actual game results, going 1-7 SU but ATS records sometimes are different from straight up results, case in point, BC and Duke.

While the Blue Devils are batting 0.875 in straight up wins against the Eagles, it is BC who has the edge in the betting world, going 5-2-1 against the spread and the two have gone Over in all seven of their last seven meetings.

This is going to be a good weekend if you?re a college hoops fans as not only will many of the conference championships take place, but selections for the March Madness tournament go on Sunday, so enjoy your weekend.
