Texas Tech @ Ohio :
This should be an entertaining game. Texas Tech uses a spread offense that could give Ohio St. fits, especial this early in the season.
Texas Tech coach Mike Leach is entering his third season as coach at Texas Tech His team is considered "pass happy", throwing the ball an incredible 570 time last season.
The Red Raiders return starting QB Kliff Kingsbury who threw for 3,502 yards and 25 touchdowns last season. He will try and find his favorite target again this season, WR Wes Walker. Walker caught 29 passes last season.
Texas Tech returns 17 starters from last season squad. A team that passed for over 337 YPG last season, tops in the Big-12. They should easily hit that mark on Saturday as Ohio St. is starting two cornerbacks.
The last time Ohio State lost a home opener was 1979. They have started the last 23 seasons with a victory at home. Granted, most of their opponents during this run have been from the lower end of the totem (Akron, Ohio, Toledo, Rice?)
Are they ready to end the streak? I think not. Although Texas Tech will be one of the better teams to travel to Ohio in a season opener, Ohio St. is not ready to role over just yet.
Bottom Line: Texas Tech will be able to put some numbers on the board, while Ohio St. tries to keep pace.
