NCAA HOCKEY ... Take the BLACK BEARS !!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe there's some value this weekend in the Maine Black Bears. They are +165 vs. New Hampshire.
The New Hampshire Wildcats have been near the top of the polls all year and they are very good. However, Maine is very solid as well and playing great hockey at year's end. New Hampshire beat them 3-1 in the Hockey East final, in Boston, but before a huge pro-N.H. crowd. Almost like a home game for N.H. Winning the HEA title (first ever) was huge for New Hampshire ... highlight of the season for sure. Anyway, they might beat Maine again in the semi's, but I sure don't see them as a -185 favorite. Put a little cash on the Black Bears @ +165 for value.
The other game is tougher. Minnesota should beat Michigan, but the Gophers are a -240 favorite. I don't see a lot of value there and I hate playing hockey lines -1'. Probably better to try to find a play on the Gophers to win the title ... maybe even money. That would be the way to go I believe.
Good luck gang.
How's this for bad timing? I'm only playing into one out right now (BoDog) and they only put lines up for a couple of the games last weekend. I had predicted 7 of the 8 winners correctly, but made NO money what-so-ever. Oh well, I always said I followed the college game more for fun than profit.
Look for the Fighting Sioux of UND to be back in the mix next year. Zack Parise, who just may be the second coming of you-know-who, will be skating for the Sioux, much to the dismay of the Gopher faithful. Should make a huge difference in UND's ability to get back into the elite ranks.
