this is from Fox-in Cincy:

"University of Cincinnati star quarterback Gino Guidugli has been ticketed for underage drinking. Head coach Rick Minter says he is disappointed it happened but he considers it to be part of Gino's private life and any response will occur internally. He will not be suspended from the team. "

I am curious to why you like Cincinnati. Yes I know they almost/shoulda beat Ohio St. but they are not that great of a team. Temple is not that great of a team either except Temple has played 3 very tough opponents- Miami, Oregon St., S. Carolina and Temple was very competiive in all 3, especially during 1st half. Cincy would also get blown out by all 3 of those teams. Here is why I think Temple covers the game and prob. win the game outright.......
--Cincinnati will come out flat against Temple because of the very very emotional loss against Ohio St. and they are playing their rival Miami Ohio next week. Plus Temple is an OOC game and who can get excited playing Temple?
--THis will be Cincy first road game of the year, and on top of that it is very likely they will come out flat, and especially with the QB problems as well has to be a distraction.
--Cincy struggled against an average West Virginia team, and WV has similar spread offense that Temple uses, and that gave cincy the fits, and cincy had a great comeback in that WV game but fell 3pts short and lost.
--Temple will be pumped to win this game becauase its a VERY winnable game for them and they have not beaten a D1 team this year and after playing 3 very tough teams in a row, they will be ready for the Bearcats.
--Even though Cincy has the QB advantage, Temple has a very good O-Line and a very good RB who torched S.Carolina in the 1st half but left game because of broken tooth. The 0-Line will give the average/poor QB Macgann for Temple enough time to pass and i think Temple jumps on Cincy early and fast, and cincy tries to make a comeback but will fall short.
--If Temple wins this game, it turns around their whole season and helps their recruiting big time, for a Cincy win it does not help the program much except get them a W for a bowl game.
--Temple also will be getting a lot of players healthy and back from injury, and they have a good Defense who has yet to put together a great defensive game. Will they this sat.? Will temple stop shooting themselves in the foot? I think they will, and here is one last think on Temple's side.....

Heavy Money is on Temple, but the public money is on Cincy, its looks so easy for Cincy to cover against Temple. I heard at one sportsbook that 119 bets have been placed on Cincy and only 44 on Temple. HEAVY money being on temple because the line dropped from 7 to 4.5. Their is a strong possibility that this game might be fixed. THe Oregon ST./Temple game was fixed and i had OSU and was screaming at my TV. It was a fix on Temple favor but OSU still covered and a lot of people lost huge money. If you watched the game you could easily see the game was fixed but it was a blown fix. Another game in the Big East was Syracuse and BYU game looked fixed as well. Why wouldn't there be a 3rd fixed game in the Big East? Make up for the big losses on the OSU/Temple game. Remember OSU was favored by 13 and went down to 9pts, and OSU was way way better team. Think about it....

Good luck this weekend, but I think Temple covers and I have 2 very large bets this sat. I won my 2 biggest bets of year on USC over CO and Auburn over Miss. St. so that is why i am risking so much on 2 historically bad teams.

$500 on Temple +4.5 over Cincinnati
$500 on S. Florida +28.5 over Oklahoma
$100 on West Virginia -6.5 over E. Carolina.

I almost bet $1000 on USC but the Trojans #1 and #3 DB's are out for season and OSU might exploit this. If they don't, USC will win by 2 Touchdowns. I think this game is a toss-up unless USC comes to play and the recievers don't drop balls that hit their chest, and special teams improves, then USC wins by 10pts!

Good Luck!

fletch, i'll be the second to ask in this thread... how about a sentence or two regarding MI vs IL? would really appreciate it. i think MI is a strong play. with that being understood, you obviously find value in a san jose st. play. now, if san jose st. comes to IL and does what they did as 23- point dogs - i have a feeling what MI will do. looking forward to that response - thanks in advance.

btw, congrats on your continuing MLB prowess... i've been there from just about the start ; ) - thanks!

scott did a whole break down on temple last week on the radio show i am on thur that can also be heard on the net about an hour after show is over if you want to hear it email jack and he will tell you where to find it. I know the big east pretty good as well as the mac, cusa,mt.west and wac. i find these much easier to work with for different reasons. And i know bobby wallace and his off very well from when he was at n.alabama because i was coaching at west georgia in carrollton at his prime time. It takes a qb who can make good fast reads and have the timing down to a T which he does not have. They will have to hold bearcats below 24 to win and if it gets into a up and down game which i think it will the owls will have some costly to's which leads to points as they have all year. I had gamecocks last week and had it scripted just like it came out and the same as the org.st game to much to write and not enough time but feel free to listen to my break down of them it's about 15 mins. hope this helps.

and good luck this weekend.

as for the ill/mich game not a big ten player but i feel anything over a td could make it a tad tight.

i really do not like either team and their up and down play makes it to hard to capp. if i had a gun to my head would have to take anything over 7. much better games on the board then this game.

This could be the craziest thing I've ever heard. First of all, the line movement was justified in the OSU/Temple game. OSU's first road trip of the year and to the east coast no less. OSU had a down year last year and was very unproven at that point. Temple was showing promise with a win in their first game. A huge Thursday night home underdog that early in the season will get sharp money thrown at it 9 out of 10 times.

I'm not disagreeing about the Temple play this week with your other reasonings, but a fix?

Oregon State smashed TEMPLE.. they ran up 428 yards on TEMPLE, practically double the yards. TEMPLE had 4 turnovers.
Time of possesion was slightly in TEMPLES favor.
That LINE was around 11 -- 11 1/2 points. Does anyone remember what that line opened on that game ?

Cincinnati gives up a lot of yards. TCU 380..W VA. 523...OhioST. 292..........

Interesting game... Line drops from 7 to 4 1/2. :nono:

Someone will be screaming " FIX" after this game too.

:argue:

good luck all

Thanks Flether for replying. As for the others, I have no proof the game was fixed, but did you watch the game? I did because i have DSS satelite, and got the game, and had huge bet on Oregon St. I think there were 4 or 5 personal fouls called against Oregon St. and only 2 were legit. Even the announcers disagreed with the officials live on air. If you didn't watch that THur. night game, then you never would know. As the BYE/SYRACUSE FIX, i am not sure about, just going by what someone told me. Is that proof it was fixed? NO, but it makes you wonder. THe Oregon St. line dropped from 13 to 9pts, and the public was on Oregon St. THe Temple line dropped from +7 to +4.5 and the public is on Cincy. Why? I am not betting this game because it could be fixed, but if it were going to be fixed then I know it will be on Temples favor because BIG MONEY is going on TEMPLE.

Its just something to think about.

Why I gamble, for 2 reasons, make money and have fun. But I only risk money i can afford to lose, and will not hurt me financially.

"the bunker"
don`t know about temple-or st

don`t know about temple-or st

but, anybody that thinks no games, halves, quarters, totals are ever fixed or "manipulated" is living in lala land or shangrila.....i can`t believe that statement was uttered...you still wager because you are addicted to gambling(although no one here will ever admit it) ....how you handle it is the key....anytime there are money and people are involved, there will be shenanigans involved...no fights are ever fixed either.... ...that`s why you get abysmal fighters running up 27-0 records and getting big money for title fights(see roy jones jr`s opponents) or journeymen somehow vaulted to number 1 contender and getting a mandatory title shot...politics,money,kick backs.....it`s all there.
