Getting this first Dance play in early while I still see some 5's out there.

Florida(-5) over Manhattan

Two Nationally televised blowouts to Kentucky over the last 10 days have skewed this line in my opinion.

We'll find out quick enough that Manhattan is not the same as Kentucky and I'll gladly lay the relatively small number here.

Also have early leans on Southern Illinois, BYU, Nevada, UNCC, and Va Commonwealth on the Thursday card.

Nothing that everyone else isn't aware of, but just to add to my thoughts on Florida, here is the last 4 games for each team............Florida has played Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Alabama, and Kentucky and has gone 1-2-1 ATS. Manhattan has played Niagara, St.Peters, Marist and Rider and has gone 1--2-1 ATS. Hmmmmm.

2)UNCC(+1.5)

I see that Texas Tech is a popular pick for today in here, but I just don't see it that way.

I know that it's very tough to compare raw numbers when comparing conferences but every angle I look at for this one leans the same way.

UNCC was a very good road team this year at 11-5 S/U while Tech was 8-9 S/U on the road. Tech is a better free throw shooting team, but Charlotte is much better on the boards. In fact, TT was outrebounded in 7 of their last 8, while UNCC outrebounded their opponents in the last 5 straight games.

On the defensive end, these teams are going in opposite directions. Tech is giving up 72 pts/gm in their last 5 games, 6 pts higher than their season average. On the other hand, UNCC has given up 65 pts/gm in their last 5, 7 pts less then their season average, and we all know that defence is the key.

For Charlotte, this is their 5th appearance in the Dance in the last 8 years, and they have won their 1st round game 4 of those 5 times. I think they do it again today.
