Well, starting out early with Butler, +1 1/2..this is a tough pick so I'm going light..seen Butler play a few times and they've got both talent and discipline..normally like the more physically gifted team if everything is equal, which would be LSU, but inCBB, sometimes slightly less physically gifted teams win out...think Butler can hit the 3s and FTs to win this one..I was originally looking to bet the o/u in this one but in looking at the stats of both teams one common opponent jumped out at me, LSU lost to Xavier at home and Butler beat them easily at Xavier...now I don't think Xavier is all that great...I realize you can't use common opponents to judge how two teams might fair against one another but between LSU kind of sucking at year end, the SEC being down this year and losing to the X-men..and seeing Butler destroy Davidson and get their usual 25+ wins..I'll take the dog in this early one
Terps +2...I'm a homer in this one so buyer beware..already wrote up my rationale in an earlier thread..but essentially I like the Terps as they are really "peaking" as a team...they are a good but not great team...but for the last two weeks, they've hit their stride...losing only to the big boys, and beating the teams at their level...is Cal a "big boy"..I don't think so...Terps can shoot, make free throws, play good D and don't turn the ball over....all real important things at this time
And in the NIT, Citidel, + 9 1/2 against ODU..ODU has one real good player, Lee and the rest you can have...Citidel good all season long...conference better than usual...too many points in this one..Citidel could win outright. more to come..
