Off you got DTB - preferred your catchy title :)

One outsider to note this week who will be overlooked is John Cook - winner of Reno on corresponding week last year, finished top 10 at Sahalee in 98, finished 3rd and 4th in last 2 attempts in NEC and has 4 top 4's this season - that 259/1 at Betfair sure looks tempting!

Ya know Ian I was looking hard at Cook myself. He's kind of like Lowery, when firing can go very low. I believe I'll put token wager down @ Sportingbet @ 150/1

Outright plays (1 unit):

Sergio Garcia to win 18/1 e.w. @ Sportingbet
Clinging to the hope that Tiger won't win this by a mile. Before those last four holes, he was certainly struggling with his swing and has now asked Butch Harmon to play a lesser role in his affairs. Would take last year's odds of 3/1, but not those currently available. Looking for Garcia to secure at least a top-5 place instead. Has finishes of 7th, 7th and 5th in his three WGC strokeplay starts and looks to be in good shape if he can achieve some greater consistency in his ball-striking. He completes the series of top-10 finishes in this year's majors and beyond a difficult month of May, this has been a year of consistently high finishes. Should secure at least a top-5 place.

Vijay Singh to win 22/1 e.w. @ Sportingbet or Victor Chandler
A top-3 finish in the 2001 American Express Championship is his best finish in WGC events by some distance and had the event remained at Firestone, he would not have been considered. However, Sahalee is the site of his 1998 PGA Championship victory and he will have been targeting this event for some time. Had not been in the best of form, but, like Garcia, he closed with 68 last week and should be upbeat about his chances this week.

Nick Price to win 50/1 e.w. @ Sportingbet or UKBetting
Price didn't even make the weekend as he fell back from a promising position on Thursday to miss the cut by a stroke. It was his first missed cut since the 2001 U.S. Open. Nevertheless, he still remains one of the most consistent players on Tour. He ranks 3rd alongside Garcia in number of top-10 finishes this year (Singh is ranked 6th), plus he has finished in the top-5 in three of five starts in WGC events. Looks a big price.

Furyk 40/1 Sportingodds. Has finished in the top 10 in his last two events. Sahalee should suit his accurate game.

Price 50/1 Sportingbet. Missed the cut last week but he has been very consistent this year. 4th at the PGA in 98.

Allenby 80/1 Ladbrokes. 10th week and 13th at Sahalee in 98. He should do well here as accuracy is more important than length.

One bet in the specialist markets - Fulke finished jt top European at last weeks PGA - has been in fairly good form of late - something that can't be said of a lot of Euro players - 22/1 Paddy Power to my mind is too big.

do not normally go in for BM type ew doubles, but saw some from bookies I was patronising this week..
1 ew double Donaldson (ScottishPGA) Allenby (NEC) both 80/1 with Ladbrokes
1 ew treble Coceres (NEC) 150/1 .. Bjornstadt (Scots PGA) 125/1 .. Perez (Reno) 100/1 .. breaks limit at Chandler..I checked..but they do not take less than 1...will settle for ?250,000 limit...have asked for refund of excess win stake they have taken as minimum...
if these come up, you might not hear from me for a few weeks...

1st rd
Singh +190 over Tiger

Been a while since situation has come up but time to take stab vs Tiger in 1st rd on par 70/71

This situation has netted 5wins and 2 losses past 2 years at great odds.

Tiger usually plays consevative 1st rd and is not nearly as effective with lack of par fives(wish they would have kept this par 70) as he lacks again this year with just 1 win in 4 attempts on less than par 72.

added proof he ranks 61st in scoring on par 3's and 57th on par 4's Would love to pop him with Mick also but recent form scares me.

72-Hole Matchups:

72-Hole Matchups:

Price v Duval 9/10 @ B&W 3 Units.
Duval may think he's gunna go on some winning streak against me after he beat Love last week but the consistent Price should prove a stern test. Price did lose it a bit last week but after such a run of fine performances can be forgiven for an off week. Duval went at everything on Sun and got lucky before the course caught up with him. Price also has a 4th on this course to DDs MC. What d'ya think DTB?

Els v Mickelson 9/10 @ B&W 2 Units.
Mick has looked pretty bad this past month. I really don't think the tree lined Sahlee sets up to well for him either. I doubt Els will win this week but should post a t-15 which looks good enough to me.

Funk v Beem 5/6 @ Hills 1.5 Units.
Gotta get one play in against the Beemer.

Singh v Mickelson Evens @ Hills 1.5 Units.
Just not liking Mickelson this week against a man who has won on this course.

Lonard v Rose @ B&W 2 Units.
Think Lonard goes close this week while Justin may struggle off the tee a little here.

Top-European:

Top-European:

What a list of golfing misfits. Sometimes I feel bad this great continent can't produce more world class golfers.

Harrington 6/1 @ Surrey 3 Units win. He may be a bit of a sick-note but he says he's feeling much better on his website.

Garcia 5/2 @ VC 1.5 Units win. If the Irish twit can't Garcia can cover.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
I?m working my way back home, having returned to Minneapolis after a trip to northern Minnesota. It?s been close to two full weeks since I?ve been in anything approaching what was a regular golf capping routine, whether it was digging and tracking on the computer or taping and watching on television. And with the Packer's and the NFL's seasons about to get real, that old routine is not likely to be cranked up again until February.

OUTRIGHTS for 0.20* e.w. @ Bet365:

Peter Lonard(50/1)
Stuart Appleby(66/1)
Justin Rose(80/1)

Chris Riley(11/1)
Lee Janzen(28/1)
J.P. Hayes(40/1)

Gary Evans(18/1)
John Bickerton(50/1)

AND THE REST for 1*:

Allenby(-115) over Beem (Tournament) @ Bet365
Rose(6/4) over Cabrera/Fasth (Thursday) @ Bet365
