I'm guessing he means take some of the parts out of his old computer and put them into his new comp....

First off it may not be worth it.... First you have to let us know what parts were in the old one.... If it was much older than this one then you most likely won't beable to transfer the memory because it will be a different kind... (different speed) and you can't combine the two.... the other thing u may want to transfer is the HD.... but how big was the old one.... are you really gonna fill up your 80???

And now just as i'm writing this I think you meant something else.... you mean how to get your old programs etc from the old computer to this one.... If it is programs or games you have to Reinstall them on the new comp... you can't just copy them over... if it is music files and pictures and stuff like that you could either network the two comps together... or you could take the Harddrive out of your old computer and put it in the new one... and then you would have everything there...

Korn is correct. Any software you loaded on your old pc , you will have to reinstall on your new one, which you will need the disks for. Unless, of course, you either install your old hard drive or "Ghost" your old hard drive to your new one. Personally, I would Ghost everything you have from your old pc to your new one since you have an 80 gigger. You would have to buy the software but it's well worth it.

Sounds like you have a bangin' new system. Have fun with it and good luck on your dilemma.

Felonious Monk is right. You also need to be aware that many old Windows 95 programs are not XP compatible. The only way to be 100% sure if a program functions is to install it on your new machine and try to run it. Don't freak out if it doesn't work. Having that old program on your new PC won't cause harm. If this occurs, check the website of the software and see if there is an upgrade to an XP version. I hope this helps.
