Freddog - all I can say is that my Vols beat them in Memphis and I found out last night that my Vols were just not that good. Played in a weak conference and went 3-3 in big games this year.

Memphis plays in a much weaker conference and cannot shoot free throws. Will the win the nc - no, will they win tonight, I would not bet on them

Having said that, I will be rooting for the home state team:shrug:

Don't judge Tenn by what you saw last night. Pitino is one of the toughest coaches to beat in a toun that there is. And don't under-estimate Mem because they lost to Tenn at home. That's still their only loss of the year and you talk about a weak schedule. They beat USC, Ari, Siena, Gtown, and Gonzaga. All were in the tourn not counting the two they beat in the tourn. Wisc is the team out of that conference and Mich St lost twice to them and at least once to every team out of that conference that made the tourn. They also lost to UCLA but beat BYU and, maybe their best win, Texas. The conference is always over rated and seems to get the calls in the NCAA toun and I wouldn't be surprised that both Wisc and Mich St go down tonight. That's just my opinion for what it's worth. Good luck whatever you do.

Dude!!

You took the words right out of my mouth. :toast:

Memphis is much more athletic that Mich St. Izzo is a great coach but Calipari is just as good or better IMO. Free throw shooting is big tonight but I think memphis is up by double digits most of the game. Their press causes turn overs and easy buckets. Just don't see Mich St hanging close in this one.

Also think Davidson gives Wisky all they can handle tonight. These Davidson kids are hungry and I think they want it more. Another historically over looked mid major with something to prove. Playing with confidence is a big plus and can make all the difference tonight. Few brackets had them going this far. If they can beat GTown and GTown's(defense defense defense reputation) why can't they beat Wisky. GTown and Wiisky are very similar teams with similar defenses.

Flowers is a stud for Wisky and a great defender. Know for shutting down most of the big 10 opponents scoring threats but none of those threats are as dynamic and can't get the ball off as quickly as Curry. This is going to be a hell of a game to watch.:0corn

I'm taking Memphis and Davison tonight

gsp,

Always respect your opinion, but I have watched UT every game this year and can tell you that if they played that L'Ville team 5 times, they lose 4. I love the Vols and am being careful not to over-react , but UT celebrated after beating Memphis and lost focus the rest of the way. They could not regain that focus because they did not have a pg who could step up as a leader

You cannot win a championship without a point guard and shooting poor FT's. I think Memphis is ok at point, but they will lose because they cannot hit their FTs.

Having said that, I don't know if they will lose tonight. It will take a team that can matchup athletic wise and then the Tigers will fall

Look at Memphis' body of work this year. They are 35-1. The loss to Tenn was close 62-66 and Tenn is one of those teams that when they are shooting the ball well they can beat just about anybody. Memphis was only challenged by then #24 USC in their out of conference schedule.

When I look at Mich St, I see a team that has had a great year but did dropped 7 games. Two of those losses being Iowa and Penn St ??? In addition, Mich St was challenged out of conference by Oakland 75-71, Mizzu 86-83, and Bradley 66-61.

Thanks for all the input on this.
This (and winning) is what I love about Madjack.

I am going to take a 1st Half play because I feel that Mem -2.5 -115 is to good to pass up. I also feel like a 1st Half play will take the Free Throw aspect out of the equasion a little bit more than if the game were close at end and Mich St forces the foul/ free throw to get back in it.

My play will be a 5 unit play on the 1st Half at -2.5

Good luck to all.

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
Guys,

I respectfully disagree with some of the comments above. Not sure why some feel the Big 10 are getting all the calls/love, as they have gotten an asswhooping by the media this year. :SIB
I have not seen Curry from Davidson play live, but I can say that Nietzel has the quickest release I have ever seen live, and if he is on, then its big trouble for Memphis. I hate State and IZZO, but this is not a game to take lightly. If you read into what I have here, it tells the story.
Neitzel=Curry:0corn

JMHO....

Franky

Like your 1st half play, makes more sense than the game...

Sorry guys, TENN BLOWS!!! Pathetic performance.

ACC AND BIG EAST are the only 2 worthy divisions. UCLA and Memphis play nobody as well. SEC is weak. What separates Davidson from the rest is the drive to play all 40 minutes. They never quit. Something TENN did last night and something G'Town did as well. Kansas looks good and has played good all year.

3 best teams in the ncaa in order

N.C.

KANSAS

LOUISVILLE

dude, we lose a game against TN at home and we played terrible in that game.

jp, played his best game all year against us.

look at the calls last night. louisville fouled on every possession and few were called. UT was called for several traveling violations last night - no travels against memphis a month or so ago. players make plays, but the whistles are huge in these games. ask texas A&M if ucla fouled their guy on the final shot last week.

if robert dozier doesn't foul out on a horse shat call against hansborough last sunday ( we were up by 9 b4 that foul) the tigers beat ms st by 15 points..............

we were due a loss when we lost to UT. this tiger team is playing better since the UT loss. what if dozier makes the 2footer against ut , instead he misses and he and dorsey travel - ut ball game.......

the game last night was ugly and that is the way the cards win, sorry.

officiating. what will be called tonight ? mich st is deep w/ meat hooks and can fill up a stat sheet with fouls if need be.

memphi is as talented as any team in this tourney, but it takes more than that to win this deal.

will tigers get into early foul trouble ? will neitzel be held down or go ballistic? our 5 on the floor will almost always be better than yours individually, but we will see how this works out.

however, we do not shoot ft's well at all - ask WVU about that last night..........

Good points Elvis.

I agree about the calls last night in the Tenn/Louiville game. Ref's seemed to swallow the wistles when Tenn drove to the bucket.

Having said that, I still think Tenn played half ass and didn't play the entire 40 minutes. Probably game 90% effort for about 30 minutes is all.

Go Memphis!
