for those that can help, id greatly appreciate it. for some reason, pop-up boxes vital to gambling sites and other sports sites arent working for me. i dont know if i need a certain application downloaded or what, but im really frustrated. theres are the types of sites that simply wont function correctly. as you can tell, theyre all "related" in a way as far as how they "appear/pop up"

1) any time i try to click on "audio" from a yahoo.com hoops game (to listen to the game), the box that normally "pop-up" to play the radio is not "popping up". im basically getting a "blank pop-up box"

2) caribsports.com's betting pop-up screen (to actually place a wager) isnt working. im getting a blank "pop-up" screen

3) stuff like andy katz' daily word on espn.com (which also requires a mini-pop-up just isnt working right.

needless to say, this problem is causing a lot of strife. any computer people know how to fix it or what application im missing?

thanks for any and all responses

i dont think (but could be wrong) that these types of pop-up screens require "java" because theyre very basic pop-ups. but im not sure. all i know is these screens arent coming up like they should

You do need java. This exact same thing happened to me this summer when I accidentally deleted my Internet Explorer and redownloaded it. A friend of mine who knows computers took one look at it and said it was java-related. It took him about a minute to fix, but I have no idea what he did. Try downloading Netscape, that might work if you don't know how to do the java thing. Lord knows I didn't.

Had the same problem in October, I completely deleted all java programs and reinstalled them, but I had to call Carib and have them walk me through it. According to Carib I had somehow downloaded a program that conflicted with all Java applications. It took me awhile and Carib had to walk me through it but it worked. FYI...the folks at Carib were helpful but they were very hard to understand.
