i'm at wits end. i run a contest, where i list the contestants down the column, then the weekly postings and results accross.

somehow there is a formula stuck in all the columns and i can't take it off, or post for that matter.

i even tried opening up a new spreadsheet, and just copied the names of the contestants, but as soon as i try to post, the formula pops up again.

i have touched and tried every possible combination of things, including shading the columns, shading the rows, trying to clear the formulas, but to no avail.

i am really dumbfounded. help!!!!

thanks,

pep

I don't know how familiar you are with Microsoft Access, but you might have better luck with a database and generating a report based on queried data.

Sorry Pepin, still finding it hard to understand. If you say the problem is still there when opening up a new spreadsheet, it might be something in your program Options/Settings. In most spreadsheet programs there is an option in Settings to "View Formulas", which you should uncheck (just another possibility).

Pepin46,

Get in touch with Jack and ask him to give you My e-mail address and I'll work you through your problem. Lotus 123 etc. is something I've used for 25 years. If you want the help, I'm sure I can figure it out for you or give you a solution around it.
