Vanished into vortex
I'm not an MMA guy so I genuinely don't know the answer here. Is Conor McGregor as big of a dick as he appears to be or is this just kinda a wrestling personality where he is playing the role of the villain?

If he's just acting then he's doing a damn fine job. I don't think a guy that fights like he does (MMA style, not his skill level) really wants to get into an actual boxing match with Mayweather. Seems like a bad idea outside of the payday.

1. Wrong forum

2. There was never going to be a boxing fight with anybody, just Conor saying shit, he can't box anybody because he's under contract with Zuffa (UFC).

3. Conor is a good dude, he knows how to market himself. He is big time over-rated but a good MMA fighter. Dude has made millions of dollars simply because he's from Ireland and he knows how to market himself. He's nowhere close to the best MMA fighter pound for pound although he thinks he is. You have to hand it to him though he knows what he's doing when it comes to promoting himself, you have to applaud him for that. And yes some might say he's a dick, but I have no problem with him, yes he thinks he's way better then he actually is, but his loss to a Diaz woke everybody up to the fact that he's an above average fighter not a great fighter. He'll be fighting again within 3 months, have all of Ireland behind him and make another 10 million dollars, if he fights Dos Anjos he'll get destroyed yet cash another big cheque and as I said you have to applaud him for that.

Bottom line, he a decent MMA fighter that knows how to market himself, there are a ton of MMA fighters way better then he is, but you don't hear about them because they don't know how to promote themselves like Conor does. Oh and that fact that Conor is from Ireland helps a lot, he is a god in Ireland. If Conor fights the guys he's supposed to fight in his next two fights he'll lose those two fights and that will be three straight losses for him, and that will change everything. I think UFC will protect him again and give him an easy fight, way to much money on the table for UFC to have him lose. Conor is Top 5 all time for making money and you don't want those guys to lose.

Conor had one massive win, but you can only live off that win for so long, his mouth makes up for it, but a year from now he could have three straight losses (if he fights the top guys he is supposed to fight), and not even his mouth will save him.

But does he know how to market himself? That's pretty important, you know.

It has made him about 35 millions dollars, so yeah I'd say it is pretty important. He has made way more money with his mouth (and his loyal Irish fans) then his actual fighting.

He would finish Mayweather in less than a minute

Any MMA fighter would beat Mayweather in 30 seconds under MMA rules, but it doesn't matter because no MMA fighter will ever be fighting Mayweather anyway.

By the way...wrong forum.

MMA vs Boxing debate is among the dumbest ever. Neither guy would win in either guys world.

MMA guy has like a .000001 chance of winning the boxing match

Boxing guy has like .00001 chance of winning the MMA match

That's basically what we'd be arguing :0074
