Why wouldn't you believe it? What evidence was there that he was killed except your government telling you so.
If alquaeda gets us again while This Administration has decided to worry exclusively about IRAQ they are going to look so dumb and they will have blood on thei hands. American BLOOD

I don't recall ever the government saying he was dead.
The way I see it is that Bin Ladin is like a Rock Star to the radicals out there and if his death was confirmed there would be thousands upon thousands of sickos looking to avenge his death.
The Government keeps it top secret and nobody knows for sure it keeps them in limbo. There has not been a video from him since DEC 2001 and the last audio was proven fake.

This is what I think I could be wrong but until I see him in a recent video it will take a lot to change my mind.

I buy it, don't think you will see many v-tape feeds can some what get a clue to where he might be from background and such. all though we have no proff i think are cia and other sneeks could use it even though they have not been the best.

What i worry about now is people and i hate to single out the faith but lets say the extremest muslim people are now and they are here in the us strapping on the tnt and being a suicide bomber , i hate to say it but i am more worried about that then chemical weapons. Hey they do it all the time so could do it here and very hard to stop i am sure.

One thing i know the world is really becoming a ****ed up place .

never thought i would ever be worried about life due to things like this in the us. you always think well thats the middle east well it's everywhere now and i really don't know what the anser is do you run people out of the country ? close off borders and how? and just because some people of a certain race ****ed up does not mean they all are. It's just really messed up right now and i don't even know if the us has the anser either. It's time to do something but first need to know what.

Fletch you will have a hard time here with that line of thought.
I agree we seem to be going ass back wards on how we should protect ourselfs. But were getting some as we used to say. Words that have some extra fabrication behind them coming from our leaders. Many folks are buying in. Im still trying to understand how 9/11 makes us king of the world. Iraq is aproblem. Iran can be abigger one. Saudi bank roles 9/11 and we gave them a pass.
Dam if I know who were after. It was Bin Laden and his crew. I guess will do that later. I mean we got some but not enough. And no i dont feal anymore secure at home then you do. We have not done anywhere what we should.

Bin Laden

Bin Laden

is hooked up to a dialysis machine and that is powered by a seperate portable gasoline generator. Plus he is a billionaire. Plus CIA agents had contact with him in the weeks prior to 9-11, since the CIA trianed the mujahedin fighters, of which he is one. And the Bush family is in business with the Bin Laden family in oil interests, in fact when one of osamas older brothers was sent to Texas to negotiate deals with George senior, he loved Texas so much he never moved back to Saudi Arabia, and he later died in an ultralight airplane crash near his home in San Antonio. Bin Laden is alive on some Indian ocean island. There is a rule in the spook business, "If you are alive, you are a CIA agent; if you are dead, then you are a former CIA agent."

I think Bush has done a good job. I did not vote for him and really thought he was not qualified for the job. After the way he led us through 9-11 I was willing to overlook his shortcomings, which are his ineptitude and arrogance in foreign policy and lack of a clue in the economy or a desire tio do anything unless it will help big business. I swore that the only thing that could make him lose my vote was that if AlQuaeda got us again on our own soil while he was obsessed going after Iraq who have never attacked us here. This Iraq thing is a priority but it definitely should not be a top priorty. He promised us that we'd get bin Laden and Alquaeda. He hasn't done it yet. Probably never will because he won't go looking for them where they are. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, And Syria. I wouldn't doubt the nut in north Korea would have a problem hiding bin laden and the boys either.
I'm sure there alot of Democrats who have begun to lean more to the republican way of thinking as they get a little older and start to build a place for themselves in this world. That is how I would classify my political views. So help me god if we get attacked again under his watch while being so singly focused on Saddam he will lose my vote. Sorry for rambling

Smash, I don't want to sound like I'm bashing you, but I can't let your quote go unanswered. I just want to have a little healthy disagreement of opinions.

If you can find a quote from anyone high up in the Bush administration stating that Bin Laden is dead I'd love to see it cause I've never heard it and frankly I don't think you'll find it cause I don't believe it exists.

Secondly, for you to say the administration is exclusively worrying about Iraq is just ludicrous. From day one President Bush has said that the war against terrorism would be a long war and be fought on many fronts and not begin and end in Afghanistan.

Many have said, and I would be surprised if it didn't happen, that there would be more attack(s) on our soil. It may not be on the grand scale of 9/11, it may be a suicide/homicide bomber walking into a club or cafe or something, but like I said I would be mildly surprised if something else didn't happen here. For you to say the administration would look dumb and have blood on their hands is just outrageous to me.

This is just my opinion, but I try to base it on facts as much as possible. Good luck to all and I hope and pray I am wrong about more attacks on our soil.

Blitz, that is what this forum is all about. Healthy debate. I never said that someone in the Bush Administration said Bin Laden was dead. I too don't recall Bush saying this because he would be stupid to. Without a body or evidence that would be Political suicide if he did pop back up. That said many government officials in both parties have publically said that they believe he is dead.
What the Bush Administration has done is downplay Bin Laden's importance and Al Quaeda's threat to the United States over the last year as he has tried to sell this war to the public. I have said it a million times that Iraq is not the number 1 threat to us as a nation. If we get hit again the focus on Iraq will have proved to be terribly wrong when we did not take care of the group who attacked us here first. Bush has been commited to this thing since before 9/11 in my opinion. Does that make him wrong? No. I think it is something that probably has to be done, just wondering why we gave up on what was really important.

I don't know why you said we gave up. The fight still goes on, they havn't pulled the troops out of Afghanistan, the fight goes on, we can fight two fronts at once, remember WWII, Germany and Japan.

Ok maybe sidetracked is a better word than give up.
We agree to disagree. I'm of the mind that Iraq is not as big of a terrorist state as some of our so called allys that I mentioned earlier. We could get Saddam out of power alot of ways without all out war. Or at least we could try. I would give an ultimatum telling the Iraqi people that they have 30 days to overthrow their leader or they will be bombed into oblivian. You might be surprised to how they react if they thought they could avoid losing they're soverignty. The thing is we are not just after a regime change we are after taking control of the country for the oil. Again my opinion. That is what this forum is for. WHatever we chose to do I'm 100% behind our soldiers and their families. I'm also a very proud American who would do whatever it took to protect our land.

Aint that the truth fletcher.

"WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 ? Top federal officials yesterday issued their most pointed advice since Sept. 11, 2001, on precautions the public should take against terrorist attacks, warning that every home should be stocked with three days? worth of water and food in case of a strike with chemical, biological or radiological weapons.

THEY ALSO recommended that families consider designating a room where they will gather in the event of such an attack, and have on hand duct tape and heavy plastic sheeting to seal it, as well as scissors, a manual can opener, blankets, flashlights, radios and spare batteries. "

Hard to believe they would even be preparing us like this. In America things like this arn't supposed to happen.

I voted for Bush, at the time I wasn't overly impressed with him but the alternative was Al Gore. The ecomomy was headed into recession when Clinton stepped out of office, the terrorist attack sent shock waves through the economy, and the corporate scandals all surfaced. I am very happy with the leadership Bush has demonstrated through these times which are some of the toughest in our short history. I feel like the confidence Bush instilled back into the American people was a saving grace and I thank god for allowing Bush to prevail from the Florida election debacle. I do not agree with everything Bush does as I wouldn't with any elected official. The past few Democratic presidents have been soft in their foreign policy. IT took 8 years of Ronald Reagan to straighten out the world and win the cold war after the Jimmy Carter debacle and it will take 8 years of Bush to stop the momentum the radical muslims built up on Clinton's watch.

As for the war on terrorism, the war is constantly being fought on fronts that we have no clue about. It is much more of an intelligence war, it was definately a good start to clean out Afhanastan and severely hamper their efforts of organization. this war is in the hands of the CIA and FBI at the moment.

Months ago I read somewhere that said that the terrorist group, Hamas was being trained by some generals in the army of Iraq. I also read that members of alqaeda were spotted in the Palestine camp of Hamas. So if nobody believes what Powell said what I just wrote shows an indirect relationship between Iraq & alqaeda.

IMO, Iraq is a key to the war on terrorism.Once the war is over, a democratic gov't, along with American troops, will be installed right in the heart of the middle east. I think the US will pull their troops out of Saudi Arabia & make Iraq it's headquarters.I then think Iran will be next to go.

I read tonight that Bush will give Saddam 48 hours notice on an attack, & hopefully Saddam will get the message to get out of town. Hopefully he will come to his senses & depart.
