Let the conspiracy theories begin after the fire alarm went off at the hotel the Kansas City Chiefs are staying at on Friday night.
The Kansas City Star?s Pete Grathoff assembled a collection of tweets from people purportedly staying at the same Providence, Rhode Island hotel that was housing Kansas City, in town ahead of Saturday?s playoff game at New England. Apparently, the fire alarm went off.
The allegations of subterfuge began immediately. This is, after all, the Patriots we?re talking about. They have spies, they have shady locker room attendants, so surely they have someone capable of triggering hotel fire alarms to disturb Alex Smith?s sleep.
Well, no, not really. The actual story is much less salacious. SB Nation got in contact with the hotel, and they report that the alarm was triggered by someone smoking in their room. How boring.
So we?ll have to wait another day for more accusations of indiscretion against New England. Maybe something will be amiss with Kansas City?s headsets, which has allegedly been an issue previously.
