The democrats are starting to look more and more like a party in chaos. The upcoming 1,500-page report from the chief U.S. weapons inspector for Iraq will show Americans that our president wasn't so wrong afterall.
If you are a liberal, you can keep up the steady mantra that President Bush "lied'' about weapons of mass destruction (even if he relied on the CIA, British MI5 Intel, Spanish Intel, Russian Intel, and Vlad Putin himself....all told Bush there were WMDs) because, after all, the inspectors did not find weapons stockpiles.
But to focus on what wasn't found would be truly to miss the point of this enormous undertaking by the US Iraq Survey group, currently headed by Charles Duelfer. The report will lead all but the most blind and stubborn to conclude that Saddam Hussein was an exceedingly dangerous leader whose intentions to do harm couldn't have been clearer.
Duelfer, concludes that Saddam:
Was actively importing materials that could be used in the production of WMDs banned under U.N. agreements. (If he wasn't trying to make WMDs, can someone tell me why he was importing this crap?, I doubt it)
Was working on unmanned aerial vehicles in violation of those same U.N. agreements.
Maintained a dual-use industrial sector for the production of weapons of mass destruction.
Had active labs capable of producing chemical and biological weapons, including the deadly agent ricin.
Had every intention - based on interviews with hundreds of former government scientists and thousands of records seized - of restarting his weapons program as soon as the attention of the international community waned. He fooled a lot of you liberals didn't he? OPEN YOUR EYES
Left unanswered thus far is the question of whether quantities of weapons, particularly chemical weapons, might have been moved over the border into Syria along with billions in cash. I wonder if that's why Saddam kicked out inspectors in recent years and was desperately buying himself so much time before we invaded.
Of course there will always be those brainwashed liberals who will look at all the facts in evidence and, no doubt, still conclude that the United States should have waited - waited for approval from the United Nations, waited for the blessings of the ``international community,'' maybe even waited for Saddam to make the first move - a ricin attack somewhere perhaps, or maybe a dirty bomb set off.
But in this post-Sept. 11 world, there are fewer and fewer people who think that way. The liberals and the media can bad mouth our president all they want and say he was wrong for crushing Saddams evil empire, but most Americans know better. That's why Bush is going to win this election.
Enjoy the report people.
