Two strong starting pitchers and two struggling offenses tonight so we'll go with the Under as the Mets open their series at Montreal.

The Mets have dropped seven straight and are in last-place in the NL East at 62-83 (.428). They come off a three-game series against the Marlins when they scored a total of just four runs. The Under has cashed in 57% of their road games and that number climbs to 67% (18-9) when the total is set at 8 to 8.5.

The Expos are in fourth place in the NL East at 74-73 (.503). The Under is 32-20 this season when Montreal play against a team with a losing record.

Veteran southpaw Al Leiter gets the ball for the Mets. He has been exceptionally consistent this season allowing two or less earned runs in nine of his last ten starts...2, 0, 0, 1, 3, 1, 2, 0, 0, 2. He is 6-2 during this run and his ERA has come down from 5.47 to 4.02. Lifetime against the Expos Leiter is 6-4 with a 3.65 ERA and the Under is 8-4 in these contests.

Javier Vazquez heads to the hill for the Expos. He has allowed just twenty earned runs in his last ten starts which has included three complete games and three eight inning outings. He ranks second in the NL in K's (217) and innings pitched (209.0), sixth in WHIP (1.13), ninth in ERA (3.27) and tenth in batting average against (.233). Vazquez is 7-5 with a 3.27 ERA in his career against the Mets with the Under going 10-5 when he starts. When you consider he has allowed just six earned runs in his last five home starts we consider it highly unlikely that the Mets will be able to get much going against him tonight.

These teams are hitting just .223 and .222 respectively their last ten games and tonight we recommend you take the Under and enjoy what should be a fascinating pitcher's duel.
