The New York Yankees tonight go for a season-high eight straight wins when they take on the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.

The Orioles have lost their last four to drop back to 35-44 overall and fourth place in the AL East.

Sidney Ponson looks to get Baltimore back on track tonight. The right-hander is 6-1 with a 3.63 ERA over his last seven starts including a complete game victory Wednesday against Toronto. Overall this season he boasts an impressive 10-4 record and 3.76 ERA. In 17 career appearances including 16 starts against the Yankees Ponson is 2-7, 4.57 ERA and to improve that record tonight he will have to make sure he cools the hot bats of Jason Giambi and Hideki Matsui.

The Yankees have won 15 of 17 to improve to 51-30 and first place in the AL East. It's worth noting though that their last 13 games have all been against the struggling Mets and Devil Rays.

Veteran leftie Andy Pettitte is 3-0 with a 2.99 ERA over his last three starts. He allowed five runs on 10 hits over 7 1/3 innings Wednesday but the Yankees offensive support enabled him to get another win. Overall this season he is 8-6 with a 4.80 ERA. Pettitte is 14-4, 3.84 ERA in 22 appearances including 21 starts against Baltimore.

We're expecting a relatively low-scoring game tonight and will take the home Orioles plus the 1 1/2 runs.

Sorry to say I played the Yanks, they are rolling now and it doesnt matter who they play. They have been crushing the ball, they were embarrassed after they got no hit and they have just kept it going,
there are pitching well and petitte gets good run support, i see the yanks winning by a couple.

best of luck to you,
btp
