"To All Ballplayers Everywhere............Take a Knee"

Take a little trip to Valley Forge in January If you don't know where that is, just Google it from the sidelines.

Hold a musket ball in your fingers and imagine it piercing your flesh and breaking a bone or two. There won't be a doctor or trainer to assist you until after the battle, so just wait your turn. Take your cleats and socks off to get a real experience. Then take a knee.

Then, take one at the beach in Normandy where man after American man stormed the beach, even as the one in front of him was shot to pieces...the very sea stained with American blood. The only blockers most had were the dead bodies in front of them, riddled with bullets from enemy fire.

Take a knee in the sweat soaked jungles of Vietnam. from Khe San to Saigon... Anywhere will do. REAL Americans died in all those jungles. There was no playbook that told them what was next, but they knew what flag they represented. When they came home, they were protested as well..and spit on for reasons only cowards know.

Take another knee in the blood drenched sands of Fallujah in 110 degree heat.. Wear your Kevlar helmet and battle dress.. Your number won't be printed on it unless your number is up! You'll need to stay hydrated but there won't be anyone to squirt Gatorade into your mouth. You're on your own.

There's a lot of places to take a knee. Real Americans have given their lives all over the world. When you use the banner under which they fought as a source for your displeasure, you dishonor the memories of those who bled for the very freedoms you have That's what the red stripes mean. It represents the blood of those who spilled a sea of it defending your liberty.

While you're on your knee, pray for those that came before you, not on a manicured lawn striped and printed with numbers to announce every inch of ground taken....but on nameless hills and bloodied beaches and sweltering forests and bitter cold mountains...every inch marked by an American life lost serving that flag you protest.

No cheerleaders, no announcers, no coaches, no fans...just American men and women...delivering the real fight against those who chose to harm us...blazing a path so you would have the right to "take a knee."

You haven't an inkling what it took to get you where you are; but your "protest" is duly noted. Not only is it disgraceful to a nation of real heroes, it serves the purpose of pointing to your ingratitude for those who chose to defend you under that banner that will still wave long after your jersey is issued to another....

I don't know why anyone gives a shit what these guys do.

Ultimately, we shouldn't. Some, including myself a little bit (but not as much as others) do get upset that they choose this moment to "protest". They chose that moment because it was the most offensive they could find.

I, like others, recognize we owe the generations before us a debt of gratitude and while respecting the National Anthem, having a moment of silence or simply remembering those who died for such really doesn't do them, or anyone, any good whatsoever but maybe it makes us feel better that we do recognize them.

To have a self entitled athlete simply shit all over that is going to bother some and some more than others. Again, they chose that moment because it would be the most offensive they could find and that is going to bother people.

The argument that "we aren't protesting the flag we are protesting social injustice" simply doesn't fly. If that's the case then "protest" some other time, but they can't do that, they need it to be as offensive as possible. That, is bothersome.

When these shitheads are retired and broke (where most of them end up) we will hear a ton of heart wrenching ESPN stories about how we should feel bad for them, that the greedy owners didn't provide a big enough pension and that the PA let them down. I won't feel bad for them for one second, I feel bad for the parents who lost children and the children who lost parents defending these self entitled pieces of shit's right to be self entitled pieces of shit.

Hasn't it already been explained a million times that these people are not kneeling in opposition to our Armed Forces?

I stand during the anthem, but it seems that veterans fought for these people to have the right to kneel during the anthem among other rights

Well the sad thing with all this they don't even know what the flag stands for. You think these clowns went to class in college not a chance. Most given the grade, cars, money, housing and prostute's.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

And it's been debunked as bullshit a million and one times. It IS disrespecting our armed forces whether that is the intention or not.

Why don't these clowns kneel at another time them? Between the first and second quarter maybe? How about instead of doing a post game interview when the reporter approaches them they silently kneel instead? How about when they score a TD, maybe forego the "look at me" touchdown dance and take a knee then?

They choose to do this during the time that it will upset the most people, which is disrespectful on a number of fronts. Doing it during a time set aside to honor our men and women who serve(d), regardless of the intention, is disrespectful. They know this, and they do not care.
